I live in upstate NY and I have a question about my chickens. This is my first winter with the chickens. Can they run outside in the snow? I plan on opening the chicken door on the coop and if the chickens want to come out in the snow they can or if they want to stay in the coop they have that option. Is this a good idea or not

I believ it should be ok this is my second year but we didnt get much snow last year and I am going to let them run in the snow if they want I just suggest that if it is to deep not to let them out for to long or not at all hope this helps

Leaving them the option of coming out and stretching outside is always a good thing if possible. The deeper the snow the less mine wander out.
