Winterizing Chicken Run

I think I will get clear plastic tarps with grommets and use them to shield the corner of the run that gets the brunt of winds. They will let the light in but protect from wind and blowing snow.
Looking at 20-mil UV treated ones right now. A bit pricey but I am hoping that they will last for years.
Roof is in progress on half the run---polycarbonate panels.

Sorry my reply above was for this post, not the thread question.

Some people only put plastic on one or two sides to stop the wind from the main direction it blows from.

I am in North AL and I covered the back side of the run with a tarp. Our weather is constantly changing and no consistency even though itnis “winter.” So on warm days it wasn’t so great and after rainy days, the run wouldn’t dry quickly because the wind was blocked. I found the run to be more stinky with the tarp on as well.

Our run is about eight feet high at the sides with a pitched roof that is 2.5 feet at the peak. The ends of the roof gable will be covered with hardware cloth when it's done.
I'm only going to put the tarp 4' up from the bottom and around the windiest corner (direction of wind here is pretty predictable)---the rest of the run will be open to the air.
I figured this would cut down on the worst of the winds and blowing snow while still leaving good air circulation and give the girls a protected area to huddle.
We'll see what happens! :)
