Winterizing run

When covering run walls with plastic sheeting. Is it better to leave a gap at the top of the wall? The bottom? Or cover completely ?

How tall is your run?
You will also want to anchor it on each vertical upright to pin it down so the wind doesn't rip it off.
I use tarps I made from reinforced "clear" vinyl. I folded over all the edges and used banner seaming tape to strengthen the edges then installed snaps.

After snapping up a tarp per wall I screw down boards to pin the vinyl in place over the vertical uprights.
The pitched areas are left open as are the spaces between the rafters.

First time winterization for us. After reading and researching we opted to leave a gap at the top of our covered run. We are hoping to get enough ventilation while avoiding drafts at ground level and keeping snow and rain out.

What did you use for sheeting? Marine vinyl?

I use corrugated plastic sheets that I slide along the outside of my run.
I leave a gap at the top to allow some snow in but I normally have to shovel snow into the run for the flock to eat.

I just got a roll of construction grade plastic sheeting.... it was 6 or 8 mil....wrapped the edges around furring strips with staples then screwed to run walls...been holding up really good so far
