I suspect lattice would be more expensive unless you have it already around.

I would seriously not trust its strength, though. *I* can (accidentally) break apart lattice panels; thus, yer average dog or coyote or raccoon would have no trouble whatsoever.

It's better than nothing but probalby not *lots* better than.
