Saw an ad in a local trader paper the other day for 17 gauge poultry wire. Got there and it was labeled stucco wire. I bought two rolls and it is ALOT heavier than the 20 gauge and it is cheap. 3'x150' 1 1/2" hex for $42. If you are around the Northcentral Arkansas area and need some let me know and I will get you the details.

Stucco wire is the wire that they put up before they put stucco up on the outside of houses. I watch HGTV. LOL.

If it is that much cheaper than regular chicken wire, I might look around here for some of that instead for my run! Thanks for bringing this to my attention!

Wow you have found what I have been looking for on line now for about three months. I am SOOO jealous. They have it at Home Depot but its attached to asphalt paper. For stuccoing. I also like the fact that Stucco Wire has horizontal wire marking off one foot widths. This keeps the wire from stretching out of shape when you put it up and gives it more horizontal strength.

Good job.... now off to find "Stucco Wire"....

17 gauge is certainly thicker and stronger than what you usually see in chicken wire. But if the two strands of wire are woven or twisted at the intersections rather than welded, it won't be as secure a fence as a welded wire one. Something to be aware of....

Just went to the shop and checked it. It is galvanized. I bought it just in case chicken math hits now that the weather is getting better. I have a large garden shed that just needs two sides fenced and I could add another couple dozen hens.
