wire verses Wood floors

I'm sure this is on here somewhere but my question is "What do you prefer? Wood or Wire for a breeding pen floor.

Actually, the question needs to be "What do the chicken prefer?". We are just caretakers...

Think evolution - did chicken evolve to live on wire mesh? Probably not. It's a perfectly unnatural surface to them, even though it might make it easier to clean for their human foster parents.

I never have anything on wire. It's either a solid floor with litter inside, sand or grass outside. I think wire is harder on the feet of birds and mammals.

..and their poops can be as big as their feet...so if the wire has big enough openings for poops...well you see where I'm going with this.... hahaha
