Yep, hard work that makes many of my neighbors wondering if I'm either nuts or actually have something going in the way of getting by during the hard times. The neighbor across the street works for Harley Davidson, use to be a farm boy, is very physically fit, more-so than myself and I've been able to bury him stamina wise when it comes to the hard work LOL I am not always bored here, except during the winter months as I have nothing really to do.

LOL! I have yet to know a woman (outside the Amish and Mennonites) who can handle such physical work. Many women these days often comment "no way, I need machines to do my work for me"...I so dislike those who choose to be lazy

Hey everybody...I ripped and ripped the siding off my house...the bottoms of the 2x4 uprights that they used to frame out the bathroom on the back of the house are all rotten 4" up!!! I ripped enough siding off that I could crawl out the basement bathroom between the studs. Yeah...I wonder what the rest of the house looks like under the siding? The bathroom was added when they put in running water...the rest of the house is much older...
So I did get insulation stapled in and boards screwed in over it on the inside and the outside. It should be much warmer for the quail now...

and maybe the plumbing wont freeze either! I went 3/4 of the way around the bathroom on the outside. Tomorrow or Tuesday I Will finish the inside. I am thinking that I will move the quail into the unused bathroom so I can have my brooder room/larder back. The dust is really getting bad in the basement from those birdies! I want to add a bunch of branches in there and see if I can get them to hatch some babies on their own. There is a person on the quail site whose BUTTONS hatch their own babies! Too bad I dont have a male button any more...if anyone can help me with that trouble I would really appreciate it!
Carol--you are lucky that you got out to ride today...beautiful day for it! Even if it wasnt a "fun" ride. Did you ride with the woman I met when riding with you last time? We need to do that again...any chance you picked some bittersweet for me? I guess I can probably wait for next fall now....

DD25 just dyed strands of her hair purple...again! Maybe she would dye my greys purple? Now that would be interesting...wonder what my clients would think?
Speaking of (taking car of old folks) no wonder you got along with Jim Tatters....you guys do the same thing! I think that is so great...I hope that my kids (NOT) will take care of me when I get old...or at least there is someone like me that I can hire....
Well, I have to find something for dinner...later! Terri O

You beat me to the punch Tiki! My fam laughs at me when I comment that I hate the sound of lawn mowers and other machines! IT was one of my favorite times after 9-11 when there were no planes in the sky to mess up my quiet! Before we bought this house we went to dinner at the restaurant down the road-it was Valentine's Day. A very delicious meal...then we cam up the road and parked in front of the house we were thinking of buying, rolled down the windows and listened....SSHHHHH--it was sooo quiet! I said OK we can put in an offer. GUess what? I didnt take into account that there was a snowstorm going on! No traffic at all...it still is that quiet when there is a snowstorm. Otherwise unless there is a really stiff Northern wind I can hear the freeway.

something I did not want!

Split pea...the last of it

for dinner tonight...mmmm! Later! Terri O

The only noise here is the Marshfield medical chopper buzzing the house every so often, I know the pilot and every so often he is at tree top level just to tick me off

. In the spring and autumn months tractors go by hauling manure. Other than that, its very quiet...a nice dirt road with horse riders on it, so dark out you can always see the stars and coyotes and wolves (yep we got a few of them) howling far in the distance.

lol Terri pretty hard to find a place that is real quiet these days eta ( thats too bad about the highway noise~it bites)

I do my fair share of work around here but I think it would probably be hard to go completely off the grid. I dig, with a spade, my garden space. Last year, after 2 years of me establishing a garden my landlords decided to take over my space. DUH like they dont have another 100 acres to garden. They tilled it and then when growing veggies they actually put artificial fertilizer on it
he.gif
And some artificial *yuckyuck* poison for weeds. I dont know the names of these things because I am not familiar with them.

All her tomatoes died and she asked me if she could have some of mine. OK Well I like my new garden better anyway. And I gave the landlady some pumpkins and other stuff. I had plenty. But when they start going in there when I am not around and sneaking stuff,,,,, I mean come on... oh sorry I was on a roll.....
