Wow A suicidologist !!!! Care to share just exactly what that is or what it entails?

Hey Cind, actually I never really did "lose" my leg, I know exactly where it went !!!! LOL

But have been accused of losing my mind now and then !!!

A suicidologist is a suicide counselor/therapist, thus my inspirational speaking was based on suicide prevention and awareness but not in a way that was filled with a lot of technical hoopla. Suicidology is a specialty that very few counselors want to step into. I made it an obsession and so it worked out well, but the burn out rate is only 5 years. I worked for 7 before retiring and not returning to the field.

When I read what you did I realized there was a very high burnout rate. My step BIL was a counselor and he burned out (then he got a brain tumor) and that was only dealing with suicide a little. Glad your finding some peace now... you deserve it!

FT... Ok... I thought you said it was "misplaced" or out of reach or something a few months ago and you were hopping around looking for it? Hummm....There goes the brain again!

I think, once I get some chickens and a few goats I can then have a much easier life. It wont happen for awhile yet, as I take care of my elderly parents too, so they require a lot of my free time, but it will all come together eventually. I'm sort of glad I got out of it as with today's economy and insurance policies, if I was still in practice, I wouldn't be getting paid all that much, thus would probably be in a deep hole financially. It's not an easy subject for most. Me, it became an obsession like that of the sun chasing the moon...always on the tail, but never getting close and that drive just swallowed me up mentally to the point where I had to quit outright and start something new away from the clinical field.

Tatters, I can see how that could burn you out !! Just like oncology doctors and nurses etc.

FT... you very well could be right about the dream thing! For a while there I was having very vivid dreams and some were people telling me things! As I recall you were saying you were so tired and couldn't remember where you took off your leg but it was under some clothes. You were hopping around looking for it!

I think "Butt dog" found it. Weird!

I bet it was from the batch of dreams where my 2nd son said he was re-enlisting!

No way.

Tatters.... I take care of my oldest who has MS but the chickens are good therapy for both of us! Is it just you at home? Sounds like you "go" to take care of your parents. (Aren't we a nosey bunch? LOL) But we have a kind of extended family here.... and all are welcome!

good morning, I am surprised to see the latest post was at 1:26AM..
today is due date for the first 4 goose eggs.. I don't really expect them to hatch,, the first eggs seldom do..
.If those pigs were pets, they wouldn't be running wild in the woods.. If it were me I would be shooting or trapping them right now.. ferrel pigs can become a real nuisance in a short time. whoever owned them should have done something about it by now.. after a few weeks I think they become fair game..
It could be that someone let them go on purpose.. that is what happened down in Buffalo County, and look at the mess they have now..
where exactly are these pigs ? If they show up in my back yard, you will be invited over for pork chops..
My cuppa is just tepid, going for a heat up..

Good Morning Everybody! Cind OWWIE!!! OWWIE!!! OWWIE!!! Tat think it's cool about getting back to reality! A lot of us here have gardens and raise/hunt our own meats. The more you read/see the bigger the garden gets. Laura and I are to the point where we get sick if we eat downtown food. I always wanted to do an appreticeship with a blacksmith. And I have a hard time understanding lazy people. Although I feel like I could be put in that catagory at times. Jim I'm going over to his place to get the hot spots pointed out to me and will look at his plucker. He said he's had it for years they do 120 cornX in 5-6 hours

Guess he has quite the set up. He's actually an old friend. Haven't been in contact with him for a long time. After his parents passed away him and his brother took over the marsh and has been pretty busy. FT get off the coke girl! No blue here.

Makin chick noodle soup today have to beg Donny for some eggs for the noodles.

Morning everyone! I slept like crap last night...was up for a couple of hours tossing. THought about getting up...that was enough to put me to sleep!

I sleep way better towards the morning--especially after DH leaves for work. DOnt really get why that is. Darn dogs woke me up with howling! It is getting to be a regular thing here lately. If they dont hear me moving around by 7:30 they start with the howling!

THen I get downstairs and get everyone fed,,,thinking I will have a nice morning to clean up the place..change the bed do laundry etc and my boss from T-Pines calls...the cook is out helping her Dad today (he is very sick) and he is "wondering" if I can come in and cook the lunch!

SO much for the morning off! I told him I had a client at noon so he will call someone else in to do the clean up.
SHoot, there goes all my time to reply and work around here!

Cind--we must have had the same dream...cause I remember FT saying the same thing! I think SHE is the one that is out of her mind...hey, didnt she say that she has been giving out pieces of her mind lately? I hope your hand gets better and you DH fixed it right...hands arent something to mess with!

I watched that film about Casey! Great news! He looks good. Man, sure looks like it was a long road. He is paralyzed from the waste down then? ANy chance there will be regeneration of nerves and some mobility? I will keep praying!

Well, I must be suffering from ICRS cause I don't remember losing my leg !!!! Now shoes is a different story !!!! Since I only have to take one off at night who knows where I throw it and it will often get pushed under the bed !!!

Reminds me when I was working, I wore different pairs with different outfits of course and I can remember driving to work (MilW) and all of a sudden have a panic as I look down at my feet !!! At the time I thought I may have put two different shoes on !!!!

I only did that once with a pair of tennis shoes !!!! They were both white so I was the only one who noticed until of course I spoke up !!!

That is such good news about Casey !! I too will keep him in my prayers.
