That's ok, we have tons of bears, coyotes, snakes and I've heard wolves not to far away. Oh and Fox !!! They've gotten more then their share of chickens.

Across the road is a motocross track. The family their races professionally, so I have lots of noise in the warmer months, but the kids are finally growing up and there wont be much noise from that place. Yep, on the left. I have my directions mixed up as Im beat

Boy I thought I was slow doing things before...things go much slower now!

Didn't get as much done as I hoped.

Back to the good chicken thing....

Australops are a good breed for meat and eggs and can go broody and raise chicks(at least mine did). However you may find their friendly nature and need to chat with you could make it hard at butcher time! I find ones I'm going to butcher I have to disassociate myself from, from the start. Once you get chickens, especially if you only have a few, you will be surprised how attached you can become! I didn't even like birds before and now I love my chickens!
House chickens.... it usually happens when one is sick or injured and they grow on you! Although when I have any in they have their own room (kinda). I have a guinea fowl and a chicken in now!

Ok... going to try to get dishes done and stoke the fire. Ahrrrg.... garbage night too!
