You must have a good poker face! LOL Love the picture of the guineas and peacock.

I have been thinking about building a little greenhouse out of cattle panels for the last 5 years. Maybe this year I will do it. I planted my garlic in the fall so we shall see if it comes up (first attempt here) :) I need to keep the lords out of my garden this year. They want to plow it. Criminey Cricket!!! Not after all the work I did ammending the soil! And they like to take produce if they dont ave any of that variety of their own. Talk about no bounderies.! Woops there I go on my stump again.

Tiki, my muppet hen that I got from you with the silkie mix is not a hen! I just realized it today! Oh my goodness, I'm back up to 5 roosters. I have never heard him crow. I just let him free range with the silkie today and noticed the silkie do his dance then peck the other chicken. After a closer look I realized that thing is a rooster. Good thing I didn't try to give him to Angiebubs when I thought he was a hen.

Good sunny- windy-day greetings to you all! I've been busy - went and drove 3.5 hours round trip to adopt this little girl:

Previous owner dumped the puppy off at her friend's farm (while the friend was at work) as she was going on vacation and then sent her an email saying, "oh, by the way, things aren't working out with the puppy so I don't want her back. Hope you can find a good home for her...." The friend's dogs hated the puppy so the puppy was put outside in a kennel. (The woman I got her from said that friendship is over!) The puppy's between 3-4 mo. old, black lab/blue heeler mix, they think. She's a spunky little thing. We're working on consistent potty training, house manners and introducing her to chickens and ducks. She's pretty skittish but generally gets along well with our other dog, Princess (as named by the farm kids we got her from.) So my husband named her Duchess. I'll get her to the vet next week for a wellness check and then find out when to schedule her being fixed.... So, while I understand some of the sentiment expressed previously about people who dump their pets because they've changed their minds being XX#$$#%#$, often I think they're actually doing the pet a favor. I'd rather have a pet be rehomed to a home that will provide them a good life, forever home than to be stuck with some XX#$$#%#$ who shouldn't have gotten the pet to begin with. And then, there are those people who love their pets dearly but whose life circumstances change so dramatically they can no longer care for their pets and have to rehome them. If you're fortunate enough to never be in that situation -- be grateful - and try not to judge all rehoming under one broad brush as no-gooders. Now people who "collect" pets under false pretenses just so they can sell them -- that's a whole different case! And I'm against breeding just for a puppy mills & $$ -- they do a huge disservice to all the decent breeders out there! Ok, I'm off my soapbox now....

Haven't started seeds yet but want to!
Have a good day, folks!

Congrats on the new addition Elaine! Hey Shelter From the Storm Spay Me! clinic is having a special spay neuter day on February 29th...maybe you could get her in there? All spays are $29!!!
I am just waiting for the shavings to warm up before I clean the brooder again...I think the twins and Eli are ready to go on shavings now. DH is making a pork roast on the grill for supper...if he ever gets off the phone with DS23--he is doing his taxes for our son and other kids...I told him to let them do them their selves! I believe that they should do them when they are easy so they know how! Sheesh...they are grown-ups!

OK those shaving should be OK by now...better get those birds done! Terri O

Speaking of rehoming, here is one that needs a new home. A Husky.

Ha--obviously those people do not know anything about dogs! THere is a "Siberian Husky" and an "Alaskan Malamute" THere is no such thing as an alaskan husky! I hope that they dont find another dog, you need to work with a dog to make it into a good dog. They just dont appear out of no where 'cause then people wouldnt be getting rid of them! (duh) But I guess I am probably preaching to the choir so to speak....T
