Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

good evening, I just came in .. It turned nice and cool when the sun went behind the trees.. I took advantage of it and ran another drum of water down to the thirsty plants.. the squashes respond so well to water.. It seems like you can see them grow..

I sold 30 keets today.. and two chicken hens..

I have the new brooder stabilized at 79 F..

Wave's swap is open to anybody.. It is just 2 miles East of Elcho.. I have the address if anybody wants to google a map.. PM me.. she said hot dogs and potato salad and soft drinks will be available.. and I think potato chips were mentioned.. 9AM to noon or whenever everybody clears out.. she is flexible.. last year it was closer to 4PM..

can't think of anything else.. tired, and in dire need of a shower..

Hi Chickenscratch

All are welcome! It just isn't heavily advertised, no need. She just puts up flyers around the area but lots of folks on here from quite a ways seem to know about it. Guess it's been going on for quite a while. It is just outside Elcho (hwy 45 either 30 miles south of Rhinelander or 30 miles north of Antigo) If coming from the north, turn left onto sunset road just before you get to Elcho (you will see a small lake on your right). If coming from the south, the easiest way is go thru Elcho then take Sunset road (first road on your right). Both ways just follow the road to just around the bend and there you are! You'll see the signs. Hard to miss

There is also a small swap meet in Crandon on Saturday behind the human society.

For those in the area a reminder that Market Street Days in Antigo is this coming Saturday too

Jim~she said this afternoon that she isn't going to start this year until 10 am and running until 3 pm. (and that's what she put on her flyers~said she hated running around so early on sunday morning). Easy to find, just drive by my place and keep headin' west on K toward Elcho (hehehe

Jim I read all your posts with bated breath...
Or may be that's true today because I need a shower in the worst way and don't want to smell myself!

I'm taking the boys to MN tomorrow. Me, 5 boys and 5 hours in a car. Sounds like fun, huh? We're going to Coon Rapids to visit my friend. I had to show my hubby chores tonight. His eyes bugged out a bit when I told him he had to stop at 6 "stations". (really its 7 if you count the brooder in the big coop, but I just lumped them together). Nothing all that hard food and water at each station. I think the goats will be mad because they probably aren't getting out while I'm gone. The chickens won't be free ranging either. The ducks I'll be stuck in thir little area too. It's way to much to expect him to round up animals, in addition to feeding and wAtering. It's only for 2 days. They'll be fine, right?

Better go, have to get up early!

Checked traps before I climbed into bed tonight. Full traps cant catch more! I set 4 traps and had 4 coon already tonight! I am winning the war so far I have got 6 of them this year and they have gotten 2 of mine. I will check again in the morning.

Good night,

Joe

shoot thats only 3 dvd's and 2 bathroom breaks! good luck and drive safe

Joe apparently my coons are smarter than yours, or my traps suck! They know how to get the food out with out tripping it. OR they can actually get out of them. I had a great b!tch session at one coon caught in the trap. Told it all about my chickens being murdered and how I didn't care if he did it or not, it was toast. By the time morning rolled around when my dh went to shoot it, it was GONE. Explain That to me.. They come down as families to eat our cat food. I caught 3 of them in the cat house the other night. Not a single one died! GGGRRRRRRR!
