Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Was just out watching the lil ones and most were perched on the stick and one squeezed in knocking the end one off, she came around and did the same. Sort of a chick musical chairs.

Need a longer stick! Nah! Just popped a cold one to drop my inner core temp before firing up the grill besides there's a law about firing up the grill. No grilling without a beer! That's just wrong! Good afternoon for watching racing and burning CD's. Hey Bigz you said you like "Lectric music" ever hear of Captain Beyond or Cactus? Hard rock in it's infancy. Great stuff! Gotta grill.

Almost 7:30pm and it's still 88* here. Spent the morning planting my garden and then weeding the strawberries. Then this afternoon off to a friend's house and it's a good thing we were there. Her DD 16 left to go to the beach and on the way there her car broke down. My DH and I were able to tow it back and figured out what was wrong. (Being that DH works on cars on the side) ......she ran out of gas because the gas gauge broke.

I feel so bad for this friend because she has a DD 16 and a DS that is 12 and very handycapped and in a wheelchair AND she's going through a devource and is a stay at home mom because of the DS.

Thing's are defenetly rough over there.

Her 2 toilets have been runni8ing for about 5 years and her useless ex never even attempted to fix them even though she had the parts. It literally took my DH about 15 minutes to fix each toilet for her. He just replaced the innerts.

Well-enough ranting about that. We all had a very nice time.

I have free tickets to the Comedy Quarter for this Thursday if anyone wants to go with us. That will make you laugh.

Have a nice evening everyone. I know I will.

Evening to All.... skippy my friend Jim will bring birds to sell at waupaca. He is reasonable.I think Terri O wants 4 keets. Is that right Terri O ? I'll need to give him an idea of how many birds to bring. I know he is selling some chickens too.

Doc, I love all music.... I said I have a eclectic taste in music...

I have heard Cactus before though... I've had the tunes playing on the puter for a few months now. I listen to a Vancover Canada station that plays some really good to listen to music. It's kinda nice to hear groups and artists that you never heard before....and want to keep hearing. If you want the link I can post it?

Grilled chicken and corn on the cob tonight...I ate more than my fair share. Think I need a short one to settle things down abit...

Stay Safe, have a great Memorial Day! ~ bigzio

Good Morning All!!! Bigz I'd love to have that link. Had a radio station in Nekoosa that was the best that I've ever heard doing the same thing. The the owner sold out to a bigger station and they shut it down, a lot of PO'd people. They played everthing and a lot of obscure stuff. I wasn't poking fun at your spelling! I constantly make up words to suit me sort of a cracker ebonics. I've been giving the lil ones some finely sifted sand for dusting and see that they are eating it too. With them being out in the cage eating grass and bugs think it will be ok for their gizzards. Any thoughts on this? Pretty good rain last night puddles in the driveway reminding me that I need to fill it in. Todays agenda includes dishes then chicks to the home then go through the garden with a fine toothed comb. Can't seem to grow carrots. They didn't do very well last year but thought it was the weather. Maybe put in some brocolli. Running late this morning. Usually up at 5 if I get up later the day seems really short. Peaches says let my people go.

Good Morning- looks to be another nice one today-not sure how much rain we had early this am but our border/collie mix let us know that a storm was coming-he gets really agitated and starts barking and trying to dig out of his crate-DH got up and gave him some medicine to help take the edge off....poor guy.

Finished planting our garden yesterday except for the tomato plants and need a couple more packets of pickle seeds for making dill pickles-takes about 4 packets per row with the number of seeds you get in each. Had to work on the garden in 2 shifts because it was so warm out-can't take much being out to long in the sun these days- 6 years ago we moved my sister back from AZ and I ended up getting heat stroke and have to watch that closely as it never goes away.

Going to pass out American flags with the kids 4-H group a bit later this am at the Monona Mermorial Day parade-what a nice way to help thank all that have served on behalf of us!

If anyone is interested we have 1 pullet and 1 cockeral of Partridge Bantam Cochins that didn't make the cut for which ones my DS(8) is keeping for 4-H. He would like $4/bird-they are about 3.5 months old and mellow.

Have a good one

Went to the local Memorial Day celebration at the cemetary with the kids this morning. Very touching service, a big thank you to all our veterans.

After the service FM came over and we attacked my flower beds. She left with a trunk full of purple cone flowers, blackeyed susans, irises, hollyhock, salvia, daisies, varigated solomon seal, and some blue spiderwart. The great thing is that my flower beds do not look any different!

Now, does anybody want some milkweed?

Still working on the kids clothes issue..... my house looks like a tornado hit it......

I have a friend looking for some guineas. BigZ, do you know what kind Jim is going to bring to the bash? I think I will need about 5-6. I'll let you know.

As I was finishing this little memo, our one cat decided to have a seizure. He is ok but since he has not had one in ages it freaked out the kids. Thank goodness FM and her DS had left before he did it! What stinks is he has not had one in about three years so I get worried every time that it is going to kill him...... thankfully not this time.

Have a good one everybody!

Happy Memorial Day folks. DrH, I would think some sand is just fine for your little ones. I've put a few clods of dirt in with my chicks and they attack it, scratching and digging out the bugs. It's usually gone by the next day, so I know they're eating the whole shebang. I read somewhere on here that chicks with access to dirt have less chance of getting cocci. So I say let em have at it. And could ya send some of that rain over here, getting a bit parched. how about I grow your carrots and you grow me some broccoli? Not liking waht I'm seeing so far with my first seeding.

Seems like everybody is gardening this weekend, good day for it today, glad I waited. Potatoes are in, but have to get to the peppers, huckleberries, ground cherries, beans, more tomatoes, pumpkins and squash. Whew.

You know, BL4, milkweed is the exclusive food of Monarch Butterfly caterpillars. Sure you wanna give it away,

Had a fun cookout with some neighbors last night, 2 other couples and their kids. We 3 women spent a good hour pouring over my Illustrated Poultry book, such geeks we are. Just had to figure out what Julie's mystery bantams were - we're pretty sure Sebrights and Bearded d'Uccles.

She's got some of the cutest barn kittens too, oranges, calicos, and torties. Too bad we're at our cat limit, anyone need good mousers?

Uh-oh, birds will be at the Bash? Like giving coke to crackheads, that is. Don't tell DH. He might not notice a few extra chicks...

Having a very good day, I like that! In fact can't remember the last bad day I've had. Could if I thought about but I'm not going there. Was out weeding and a van pulled in. 99% chance the car is sold. Will know for sure tomorrow afternoon. Took $1,400 less than the original price. $400 less than my bottom. Young couple with 5 kids. The kids got out while we were talking trying to get the girls to come closer. They all vanned up and were ready to leave and the youngest little cherub says can I pet the chickens? I asked her if she would like to pet a baby chicken? She nodded with wide eyes. So everyone unbuckled and into the garage we went. Think I covered my karma for awhile. Sorry to hear about your cat BL4 glad it pulled through! Bet it was scary for the kids. Here's something I don't believe. I remember going on a field trip in kinder garden and learning the difference between a false Solomons Seal and a real one. But don't ask me today although I would know what one looks like. The chicks were a big hit at L's work had about a dozen people there. One lady whose son I get my straw from was in love she always has had chickens. There were a lot of questions which I was able to answer, thankfully. But the high point was taking chicks around to let them all touch and pet them. Thankfully picked out some mellow chicks for the go around. Had a towel underneath one and my hand over her wings she just about fell asleep from all the gentle stroking and soft words. L just got home and said they were a big hit and totell me that I sure do love my chickens. It's true I do!
