Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Bf4m- school? Summer school or what? I am jealous that you have your windows open. Normally we would too, but there has been a rash of break-ins in our neighborhood in the past 3 weeks, so we are keeping everything locked up tight. Sorry to hear about the iPad, but glad that you decided to sit in front of the puter.

TO-popcorn sounds yummy. I can't eat it without having to floss because I've got braces on to fix my TMJ. They'll be off by Christmas and oh boy am I gonna pig out!!!

Cind-good luck with the well. I agree with CC, if you can get more estimates I definitely would.

PArty- welcome to cheeseheads from a fellow IL'an.

MLH- some from the Illinois crowd might just wander over here because you guys are soooooo much fun!

Bigz- what are you feeding your garden? My broccoli is no where near picking size yet. You must have a monster garden with mutant species.

Well on my end, I had to rearrange the furniture to keep the cat & dog away from the dinosaur (T.Rex). She is warming up to all of us and cooing. I hope to teach her some words/phrases. So far we are trying "Bad Dog Gracie" and "Simon" (the cat), along with "Goodnight" and "Hello". She says "Wake Up", "Oh Dad", and "Megan" (its owner).

The ground is finally moist enough that I was able to put in the bird feeders that I brought home from our house in Muncie, IN. We went to Target to use up a gift card (we bought another rice cooker) and then stopped by Ace to get wild bird food and suet.

I'm gonna sleep in late tomorrow assuming T. Rex doesn't wake me up saying "Wake UP"!

I don't know about you, Amy. What kind of racket you running up there? First you're doing battle with guineas, now you've got some adolescent misbehavior happening? You got some 'splaining to do? Hmmmm, missy??????

Sounds like an episode at BigFam's farm, doesn't it??

She's rubbing off, AAACCKK!!

Cind, my folks have their well in the basement too, in the laundry room. They built the house, about 30 years ago. Sure was a PITA when dad had to pull it and put a deeper one in.

Sure hope you can get it fixed without much pocketbook trauma.

Hi All... Wow 2:00 am already! Guess that nap killed more time than I thought

bl4... that dispatcher thing looks like a good idea! I'll start looking for something like that. I might be able to fake the paper work part,,, we'll see.

MLH...Lavender sounds so sweet!

CS... From what I've read... chickens have a 26 hour lay cycle. But then... chickens don't read LOL.

FT... Wow, more waiting.... hope it's good news! Hope you don't have to anything with the birds too. Get some sleep!

Party....

Glade to see you! He more your here the more you'll love us Cheeseheads! Just ask Chickenscratch! I have a friend that lived in Naperville, he's in Hawaii now.

Bf4m.... glad you didn't wind up in OZ!

Wow... getting tired quick. I'll talk to DH about another estimate or 2. He was going to ask his boss about turning in some of his vacation time for cash. They also might pop for a loan They don't normally do that sort of thing but he's been there like 20 years so maybe.

OK... must sleep... night!

Good Cool Morning All! This is my kind of weather! FT hope it's a good sign that the doc didn't talk to you!

Gonna have to pay you a surprise visit some day.

Jim well that really sucks about the pump! Dan too bad about them being up in the wall and having to tear it apart! Apyl thinking you need a lot of compost in that sand country. CC it's Bob. Spelled the same forwards as backwards. He's being a dink! He has now spent the last 2 nights outside. I started letting him out in the afternoons and the snot is smart enough to know that I'll grab him if I see him. He makes appearances to let me know he's close. But not close enough to catch. Bigz had to laugh at the cold comment! I agree with cs you and Jim have been mowin down broc and I'm dang near dieing for some. MLH that is so cool about Ben! What a lover. Sounds like you really need a well for that garden. cs I've got some relation Muncie. Big town probably don't know them. Bf4 at least you won't hear it comin! Party big cheesehead welcome to you! I've decided that I'm never ever going to pull that many carrots at one time! Did maybe just over a third of them man that's tedious! Definitely only planting one row next year. Think the only reason I've ben getting eggs is that their poults and can't help themsevles. Have one black that likes to sit on the eggs long after she lays hope she doesn't go full blown broodie till next spring. Better get movin things to do but NOT carrots! Maybe some pickles or onions.

morning everyone!

HI Party! Welcome to our party

My daughter and family live just outside Rockford. Misplaced cheeseheads but they come home (like last weekend) when they can to regain their (in)sanity and for their Nueske's care package

BF4M~WOW! have you checked your damage yet and counted your chickens? Room in the flock may not be a problem any more!

Nice cool breeze and a warm sun yesterday made my 1st pick thru of the bean patch a joy instead of a chore. Hubby went looking for potatoes to go with the beans and fresh garlic for supper.
The turkeys are really happy campers this year. Sitting at the table eating last night and the 3 hens with their combined broods of 2 dozen + were back just off the edge of the yard this time, happily chasing all the grasshoppers, the "kids" banging into each other and popping up in the air as the moms kept watch. Dinner from the garden and a show, what a life!

Beautiful this morning but a bit chilly. Not used to 50o anymore. Drinking my 1st cuppa at the table after just turning out the girls. Just staring at the heavy fog and, do I see movement? There, at the edge of the yard, a little behind the chooks run, appears out of the mist a big wild tom and the fool is showing at my girls! Men.

Ok, just made the mistake of turning on the tv to catch the morning news. One more time I am a little less proud of being human. Sincere prayers to the families and loved ones and that those still alive will recover. Going to go outside now where the scheme of things still makes sense.

Good morning to all! Blue skies and sunny once again. I am cooking this morning...got a very few minutes here. Vicki I assume you are talking about the shooting in the movie theater? I just heard that on the radio. How terrible for those families. I join you in your thoughts and prayers for them. I cannot believe that a 24 year old could have that much wrong that he would do that!

Man my phone is ringing again...the day begins! Have a good one. Terri O

Nice little scene you painted there Vicki. Speaking of wild boys, last night on my way into town I saw a velvety 8-pointer. Just kinda lounging along the road, as I pulled up he meandered into the brush grazing away. Sat and watched him for half a minute. Cool!

And in other wild boy news, finally caught me a coon!!!!!! Big one, maybe a 20 pounder. DH took a look and mentioned maybe we should drive it up the road and release it. Uh-uh, not a chance. That masked face will not save you. I made the first shot; took 2 more to be sure but DH didn't have the forethought to show me how to unload the shell. My first time offing a pred, only felt a teeny weeny bad, maybe because its been a few days since it killed my birds. What to do with the carcass? I thought take it up the road a ways and dump it in the ditch for the scavengers (nearest neighbor is 1/4 mi).

DrH, hope Bob doesn't get any more wandering ideas in his little head. I should post a pic, we brought home a kitten from Julie's litter. This little man had better stick around.

Excellent weather out there today, enjoy it!

cs this should make it easy. Their last name is Smith.
lau.gif
Have only met them a few times and the only one I can remember is Jimmy. He might not even be alive anymore. Last time I saw any of them was around 4 years ago. Amy glad you got one of your dang fur bearin critters! Bob likes to patrol the permiter and the woods are thick not much I can do about him. It's his house and his land.

Yep, Catitude - they own everything.

In other sad news, I left a pizza in the car overnight. Not just any pizza, a cheese stuffed-crust supreme DiGiorno's pizza. Lucky chooks.
