Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Have been so very busy here...my seasonal business (personal gardener) is done now, I have completed the fall clean up for everyone (my own yard next

)...and our son married last weekend

(my 'baby'). We will babysit their puppy when they go on the honeymoon, which will liven up this house (our dogs are older & only move quickly for food morsels)

. So much to do outside yet, empty goldfish ponds & hot tub/cleanout greenhouse & reorganize so it's ready to go in the spring/gather yard decor & pack into sheds, etc, etc, etc. I like being busy, but I do enjoy my 'breaks' to go spend time with my hens

. They provide so much entertainment and are a great distraction to the chores of life

! Has anyone heard from Superior Chick & how things are going with her?

Stupid me hasn't been able to figure out the picture thingy yet. It's probably easy. I'll look into it more this evening. "B" is 5 1/2 months old I think if she were a roo she'd have crowed by now. I didn't get home until after dark last night so the girls didn't get their yard time. I knew I'd pay for it today. The girls cleaned out the communal nest box of straw and tipped over the waterer. And I got yelled at.

Don't know!?!? My cockerals didn't start to crow until the girls started laying and singing the egg song. It was after I got my 3rd or 4th egg. Just thought I'd share.

Good Evening.... I last talked to superior chicks on 10-4-09. I'm having a e-mail glitch presently with her. Hopefully it will be cleared up soon...it's been a whole month. Last talk was great, and superior chicks was doing fine as a hen feather.
I miss her dearly too ya know...

Cleaned the pen area of the coop today. It has a cement floor that I place a layer of bedding on. I clean the bedding off down to the cement...let air dry and lay another fresh layer on for the girls to enjoy when the weather is bad and they prefer to stay in. The garden loves the old stuff too!

Good luck Tyler...hope you win!

Friday Evening to everyone. Hope you a'll got a good one planned... It's should be a nice weather one for outside activities.

The leaves are slowly getting raked and blown around from mother nature. Prolly work a little on those for sure....

Make it a safe one and have fun...this is as good as it gets ya know.

"B" messed up and squated so I picked her up and stuck my nose in her in neck and talked to her nice and soft. At first she was a little tense but relaxed a little and enjoyed my attention for a short time. This is as close as she's let me get. I feel that it was a milestone. Going to finish my fall list this weekend so as to be able to move on to my wood cutting mode for next year. I've got a feeling in my bones that it's going to be a mild winter but with some major dumpings of snow at times. Dunno it's just a feeling. Hope everyone is well or getting there and happy!
