Ran 2 full saws out of gas called it quits for today brought in and stacked the tops. Let the hens out today after 7 eggs when I came in from the woods she wanted back in the coop. Let her in and she went straight for a nest box. 8 eggs today. Changed the muffler on the splitter in prep for tomorrow morning and got all the things out of my way to mow. Having icy cold watermellon for B'fast. Does the body good. I could eat a whole big one by myself. The aunt that raised me till I was 6 used to tell me I was gonna pee the bed from all the mellon I'd put away. Back at it!

Afternoon...Taking a break from weeding the gardens and hilling the spuds. Doc we have the pic printed and need to wait 72 hours for drying time before we send it through the mail. Hate to have it all smuggy, or smeared.

Welcome Rooster#3...stop and visit often....nothing but great folks here. Only one mean one here...

That has to be some pic Bigz! Hope it wasn't a lot of trouble or expense! In my opinion there are a lot of mean people on here! Oh look aren't they cute ? How many can I put you down for? Watch it Roo3 their out there and their shootin for your heart. Just mean I tell ya!!! Took a break and ended up helping L move furniture around to clean. Then it was I can't reach that cob web and lets re-arrange the spare bedroom/office. Not complaining everything is much more better! Feel guilty though should have been outside with the clouds and breeze gettin something else done. Que Sara Sara!

L got me strawberries so I'm gonna clean them for tomorrow. She breaks out in hives just lookin at em. Youngest is comin over with her Bo for homemade taco pizza for D day. Already got wishes from oldest DD need to talk to her soon. Berries a callin and dead cow goin on the barbie. Hope your evening is swell !!!

everyone seems to be keeping busy! Taught DD how to make strawberry jam yesterday afternoon so she can enter a jar in the fair next month as one of her projects. Then let her go over to a friends house overnight.

Helped DH replace the leaf springs on our smallest trailer so that he can use it this next week again. Ended up making a parts run because some of the bolts were rusted and broke, good thing Farm & Fleet had what he needed. Stopped at the Hostess store and got some treats for the birds(came home with a cart full of discard bread) and they were happy!

Happy Father's Day to everyone who is a dad out there, we got a DQ cake for DH and celebrated tonight already-tomorrow we are taking the kids to Noah's Ark for the day but they don't know that yet!

We are being lazy this afternoon and playing Pokemon Cards with the kids, even the dogs are napping.

I found some ripe blackberries out in the woods today! I'm going to have to get a recipe for blackberry jam, because it looks like it's going to be a good year for them. We have so many of them here, I usually just freeze them all and bake them into pies and breads throughout the winter.

Well, I have to go clean one of the incubators - I have a small batch of 5 Runner duck eggs going into lockdown tomorrow, another batch of 9 due in two weeks and then I'm DONE for the year...as long as I don't win that egg auction I bid on earlier today...

Wow I am still awake. TO anytime you want a tile job you are on. Since it takes me forever to get the work done, I'll have to charge by the hour I think....

Big thanks to FM for helping my sister sell her stuff at her rummage sale! Every $ helps right now, she has until Tuesday to get ready for the big tour to Europe! If anybody would like to check out River Cities Jazz, here is the link. My sis is in the pic in the upper left corner on the home page.

Night all!

Well, maybe I got excited about the blue feathers on the Call ducklings a little too soon (my mom always says I have an "excitable personality"

). I see Blue Fawn feathers coming in now - they're still going to be gorgeous (if I have any boys, I think the Blue Fawn will be prettier than the plain Blue, but I'm hoping for girls!). I think they'll look a lot like this (I dunno what your darker-colored one will look like though, babylady4 - you'll have to post some pictures once it's all grown up!):

Oh, and the little solo-Runner is getting feathers now too - she was yellow with a blue tinge as a duckling, she's been getting white fluffy down in for the past week, and today I see the beginnings of very pale buff (I think I'm going to call it "Champagne") feathers poking through!

Well, that's all my ducky-news for the afternoon.

The chicken on the grill is nice and brown. Jennie is here and we are having a great time today.

Hopefully the buckeyes get moved from the brooder tomorrow. Seems to take them forever to feather out. Sure are getting purdy though.

ok u, I said a dabble in screen printing..... think outlines and words. I can see a chicken outline with "Got Chickens" and the whole attendee thing. but not the whole chicken suckle cow thing....

Good Morning! It's not raining. Yet! Good thing because I forgot to tarp the splitter last night. DD and BF stayed till 9 last night. Like the boyfriend he see's to it that she comes over more often and is punctual. raimnel a fence stretcher is very real unlike a board stretcher. I was thinking about the chicken/cow shirt and in the recesses of my tiny mind it seems that I've seen that somewhere so it might be plagerism. One more cupper then going out to split and haul in the last of the wood. It should fill in one row and start another. I like that! Hope get the wood done before July then start on next years need to get at least 2 years ahead for proper drying. Should remain cloudy so then on to weeding the cucumbers. The doe is eating her way through the yard. Haven't seen any ripe berries yet. Good thing, no time to mess with them right now. Yak later!
