Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

hi folks,

someone asked about a "show" schedule,,,here's a link to what's left this year

http://www.standardbreedpoultry.com/index.php

congrats Vickie,,,good news for sure

cute red chicks CC

if that was an inner ear infection in that golden there is a now a surgery that corrects the cause of it,,,a vet friend of mine here pretty much developed it back in the '70s/80s when we were both raising goldens. All dogs with the waterproof ears are susceptible and it always re cures once they have it

bbl still working on today's list between showers

Hi

Good evening! H&R I thought I had it saved too but it was his salsa that I found. I also searched his posts(for a few pages of them) but didnt find it--I guess the best thing is to have him post it again! I think it was either a V9 or a V7...cant really remember.
Tommy and I are having a brandy and Coke...he is still opening his mouth a bit and wheezing-I dont like it one bit!
I have to go and cut up stuff for the tacos tonight...back later! TerriOtheflagisworkingforeggsales!

CC glad that's the last one I was having bad thoughts.... again. So now you have some bragging rites 100% hatch rate. Congrats! TO it's his son in law and he DEFINITELY would not ask him to water and feed the animals. Could tell you stories for hours about him neglecting animals some would get you mad enough to jump in your car and beat him within a inch of his worthless life! I wouldn't pee on him if he was on fire! Kids have been in bed for 15 minutes already better go close em up.

To quote the man himself:

I don't think I posted the V8 juice before....kinda easy peasy....

tomatoes cored and skins slipped, chopped for a little faster cooking down time,
green peppers, onions, celery, carrots, beets, cabbage and spinach if I have it.

Clean and chop all your veggies ahead of time then it's ready to add to the tomatoes when you get them ready.

I usually do like 12 quarts of tomatoes at a time (I have a 4 qt measuring bowl)
So per 12 qts. I usually use
3 peppers
2-3 onions depending on their size
4 ribs of celery (leaves too if it has them)
4 carrots thinly sliced: they take longer to break down
1-2 beets again depends on their size
2-3 cups of cabbage
nice handful fresh spinach

Put in a kettle and cook till the veggies are done. Keep checking tho so it doesn't stick. Not sure how long I always eyeball it. When I think it's the right consistency, then I turn it off and let it cool awhile before I put it through my sauce master. (Oh and don't throw out the stuff from the juicer: the chickens love it !!)
Then put the strained juice in another kettle, cook for ten min. jar up with a t. salt in qt jar 1/2 t in pt jar, process in pressure canner for 15 min. pints and qts. 5lbs pressure.
Any questions just holler.

Enjoy! Each batch tastes a little different depending on the ratio and size of veggies....always delicious

Fish Fry Friday To Everyone.... Thanks CC for posting that for me....you are the bestest ever!
The chick pics you posted made me think the same as others...what the heck...it's Fall, you are killing me!

Congrats on the great news Vicki...I agree with TO...no reason to just be a cyber friend...we found a solution for that....the Bash!

Thanks for the information frenchie...now i remember a mule is sterile...just like a good cat. That means a donkey is a true breed, eh! Suzie is lucky having a mammoth mule like me..LOL! Belly wise anyway!

Yep, I agree that the farm being loss is really sad....I knew all 3 generations well.....grandpa was lost in a tractor tipping over on top him going up through the woods after working in our fields...I'll bet he is upset in heaven for sure.

Managed to get a cord split today between the rain drops. We have been using the fireplace every night....sure is a nice warm feeling....the cats lay right out in front...to funny.

Time for sharktank.... bigz

OMG Bigz, that is just terrible about the grandpa. That is the only thing I don't like about our Farmall. It has the tendency to want to do wheelies too often. I used to sit by the window with the phone every time DH was out plowing the driveway & such.

I can repost the pics come spring.
