I'm thinking that it is him on your avatar. He was a handsome boy and now I understand your nickname. You were obviously very close to him. Cool name! The only thing I can think of that might ease his passing is if there might be a baby bigz waiting in the wings as it were to step up rule the real world? And possibly touch your heart as he did. He will never be replaced as those we love ever will but we as animals find joy in new life. Hunt on my friend tiss the circle.

Bigzio, So sorry about your roo. You did tell me he had a great life. Your daughter will be upset seeing as he was her baby. But at least he won't have to put up with the newbies you plan to get his spring. That probably would be pretty hard on him. I think that they'd hurt him when they would get big enough, due to his not seeing well and all.

Thanks for caring, too. I'll be fine once it snows. I am really not one to get cabin fever in the winter. Just when rainy. I did buy some Christmas lights today. They had a salle that I couldn't pass up at Walgreens. Buy one, get one free on LED lights. And Fleet had some on sale but the ones that I liked weren't inclued in the rebate. The deal at Walgreens was better and the ones I really wanted.

So my plan is to put up some Christmas lights this weekend. Yeah!!!!

Yah. That's him. -----Bigzio----He was very impressive. Huge guy. I got to meet him twice while meeting "Bigzio" and his wife. Both times I just couldn't believe how big he was.

Good Morning to all! Not much noise out there this AM I think the fog is hampering any shooting. Less than 100yds visibility right now. I was thinking this morning about my trip this upcoming T'day. Everytime I travel through Waupaca I pass by places and wonder is that fordmommy's place? Or maybe Bigzio lives there. From what I've gathered you 2 don't live too far from each other. The only reason I'm bringing it up is that I want to know when to beep and wave. Heck maybe I'll just wave at everyone who knows maybe it will catch on. Just heard a shot from out back. An ex- neighbors 16 yr old son is hunting on my place. He has 2 sons I asked them both about their grades when they came to scout last Sat. I told them that if they don't keep their grades up they can't hunt. Lucky for them their both A and B students. Waiting to see some grinning blood soaked orange walking up the back road. Hope he got his buck! Wish I coulda met Bigzio bet he was cool. Feel sorry for their loss especially for their daughter. At least she wasn't there when his time was done. Hope everyone has a good one!

Dr.HaHa, I live in Waupaca. Well-near. Bigzio does not. They live about a half hour away or so. I was privlaged to meet them this fall. They were so kind to share their harvest bounty with me, and I in return with babylady4.

Nice and sunning out there right now. And not too cold. I think I will be able to get some of those lights up.

I also want to get to the inside. But we don't have our "real" tree yet. We have a huge fake tree for the front room. And we get a "real" one for the living room. It takes me a couple days to decorate everything. I have a lot of decorations. It will be keeping me busy this weekend for sure.

Have a great one everyone!

fordmommy; I knew that from before. I just like to beep and wave. Actually I don't like to beep, too much noise! So if you happen to see some mental driving around with entree's in the back waving at everyone just wave back. Hope you get your lights up and it brightens your day. OW that was bad. I have to have a real tree too with homemade ornaments, it gives it so much more meaning. My oldest is what my aunt told me was called Sputnik. I wonder where she got that from? I remember it as a small child. Early, early 60's. It's a stupid 1 inch styrofoam ball with toothpicks stuck in it and at one time it was sprayed with flocking which has since fallen away along with the ozone. That's what is on the top of my tree every year. A stupid naked ball with a few toothpicks stuck in it. But it is the most beloved one of all. Turned out that it wasn't the kid that shot he didn't see a deer all day and neither did my best friend. Gee ya think the insurance companies and the DNR have killed them off? I understand the economics of it I just miss watching them in my backyard.

My hubby and FIL were skunked today as well.... Bigzio, I have the Hubbard squash sitting here waiting....... probably for Christmas, thatnks Fordmommy for bringing it to me! My in-laws can't wait to have some of it! I was going to cook it for Thanksgiving but I already have a Cherry pie in the oven (yes right now) and I do not feel like staying up all night cooking a squash....

I've been cranking out soap every other day.... can't wait to give it out at Christmas! I still have three more batches to make!

Can somebody explain to me the chicken facination with the dogs? Those silly birds are jumping the dog kennel and getting in with the digs all the time! The dogs are scared of them so they leave the birds alone.....

The lit the town Christmas tree tonight in Wega... too bad I was working and missed out on the hot chocolate and Christmas caroling; but I do think it is a BIT early to light up Christmas trees.

Good luck getting those deer all of you hunters here in WI, I hate hitting them with my cars!

Hey babylady4, Do you make your soap for scratch??? I mean "real" scratch. Not buying the base from somewhere. If so, would you be willing to let me watch and learn? I make soap too. But I buy the base from Micheal's. I use goat's milk base. I love it. But I'd love to see how to do it from the very beginning. Please let me know. Thanks

I have been making cold process goat milk soap; so yes from scratch it is! The toughest part is getting your mitts on some lye...... but JR's in Waupaca sells 100% Lye by the pound. The trick is to pick it up before the meth lab people get it.....

I'll try to set it up so I can make some over a weekend and have you come on over at watch Fordmommy. The last batch I made yesterday morning the kids said looked like boogers.....

I had added some ground wheatgrass to try and make it green colored..... by the time it is ready to get cut it should look just fine. At least it smells good!

Some books I would recommend would be The Natural Soap Book, and the companion book Soapmakers Companion. The website Soapcalc is also a wonderful resource since you can make your own recipes and the lye calculations are all done for you as well as SAP values and..... ok I think I am getting too technical here.... ANYWAY, those books and the web site are good resources to have. As far as adding the milk, you just replace the water volume of any recipe with slushy milk.

Right now I am just experimenting and checking to see if I like what I am doing, for the future if I want to have goats and have something to do with the milk besides cheese and drinking it. If I was doing this as extra income I would buy my oils and additives in bulk to save money, and I would be using palm oil instead of lard.
