Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

thanks for the brooder advice, i will attach a cord and raise it a bit

As for the horses, yes news media for sure. I so don't understand people like that.
All of my 4 dogs and 3cats are rescues. I would rescue more if I could.
I went to the discount spay the first time for the kitten My chow found, but the others
I took to the vet to be spayed. I figured, I can afford it and will leave 2 spaces open for those.
Most people don't think or plan for the animals whole life, they just like the baby stage.
I know I am a city guy, but I can't imagine getting rid of a pet (family member) just because they are no
longer cute, or I want to do something else with my time.
off my soap box too

Wow!!!! I missed one day! Had 4h families over yesterday to do extra training... and a cookout. Tons of fun!!!!!!

Im cought ip and will coment on what I remember!

As for spay/ neuter, every dog and cat I own gets it at the youngest possible age. Health reasons, and I

Beleive you should breed only to better the breed.

As for the horses, yes! Media. When I worked at the humane society, we would sometimes have somebody end up there for alnog time. Good pet, just overlooked for somereason. Media was always the trick. Something WILL get doneif attention is drawn...

Delish, when are the babies due? Im thinking about coming to get them when they arrive ( its not often we get fuzzy buts arou nd here) id like to enjoy them while their very little again :) that was a wonderfull experience with the last 3.
And I will talk with hubby about still making the trip for the cook out.

Colton. I would love to see pids and plans for your "poop tray" ive been looking for ideas there.

All this news of animal abuse just ticks me right off. And here I am, dogless and starting to look for another pooch to rescue, and I'm afraid we'll get turned down because we don't have a fenced yard and our aging and ancient indoor cats aren't current on their vaxxes. Have you ever read some of the requirements by some of the rescue groups? Like they're looking for only perfect homes and good homes aren't good enough. We have a dog's paradise here: big yard, 3 acres of woods, pond, creek, and a cozy house to sleep in. And there are people who starve their animals to death and the enforcers drag their feet. Ugh.

Dan- when you refer to high bush blueberries are you in fact referring to honeyberry? I just found a plant called honeyberry that looks like a long blueberry. Thanks
I don't think so. I think I know what he is referring to, and I've seen it called a few different names. Gurneys calls it a Saskatoon blueberry. I think I've seen it called a serviceberry too. They can get very tall depending on where they are planted. Like tree-tall (20+ feet).

Jung has a Canadian haskap that is a variety of honeyberry. Those are bushes. I have a couple honeyberry bushes. They are in part shade and take forever to grow.

Alot of human-consumable berry producers require full sun, while a few will tolerate part shade. The ones that I have noticed to be the most successful & fastest growing/producing in shady areas are raspberries.

Amy, the vet I go to does animal adoption. I have not vaxed the cats in YEARS and they let us adopt Fonz.

Another suggestionon the dead animal issue, call the Dept. of Health. No WAY is it safe to have si many carcasses laying around!

I am only caught up to this point,, just have to reply..

NEWS MEDIA !!!!

get them out there ,, and make them point a finger at the sheriff too.. and at the "humane society " ..

do you have a local newspaper ?? Letter to the editor..
Another thing to do: get out there and take your own pictures! Send them off to any news media and animal rescue you can. ASPCA, the Humane Society of the US (HSUS), PETA, anyone and everyone connected to animal abuse prevention. They could at least get you in contact with someone who can help.

That's good to know. We (well, I - DH is not too interested in finding a new dog just yet - but I feel more secure with a large canine in the house,

) are looking for a large German Shepherd or Shepherd mix that loves kids, is good with cats and poultry, preferably adult but not so old that we'll be having a doggie funeral again in a couple years. Tall order, no?
