Okey doke. I have uploaded all of my pics from the weekend, but even though I selected create new album and titled it 2013 Chickenstock, for some reason it put it in my "Default" album and never started the new album. It also says that my default album cannot be renamed (why the heck not?) or deleted. I KNEW I should've just tried to upload one picture just to be sure I did it right, but there are like, 70! So no way am I messing with it. I need to get ready for work. So you guys can go over to my profile and look at my albums. It's the one titled "Default" and has a nature pic for the cover. If I only took 6-10 pics I'd upload them in this thread, but I'm not doing that for 70! Hahaha!

Finally! Pics of my new birds I got last week and new pics of the next youngest batch. I haven't had time to get pics of the rest or of the 2 roos I got this wknd, but there's time for that later.

The guy said 2 are speckled sussex and the other is an IDK. I think the far right w/the darkest head is the IDK. Straight run on these guys.

My red crested red and white crested black standard Polish. Why is she standing with her wings like that??


IDK what color NN's these are. White? But when I open their wings, they have beige or tan laced in them. Any idea what color these girls might end up being? Will the color molt out and they'll actually be white? I'm also posting 2 pics of them together so you can see one has a bowtie and the other a clean neck w/more of a bare breast.

It was HORRIBLE! ! Lol

It is awesome! Too cute we tried putting it with the mother. She immediately called and called trying to accept it. But it just didnt get it... the chickies were chasing it a bit. And we had to leave to pick up our dogs. I didnt want to take any chances. So its in the brooder in the house.

We also wound up with 3 of the orpingtons lol

Hows your banies doing? I think you also had 3, right?

Wow, is anyone else as pooped out as me ??? Or is it just my old age making me feel this way??? We had a GREAT time at the bash !! Thank You so Much BIGZ and SUZIE !!!!! Would never have met all of these wonderful people if is wasn't for you guys !!!

I know OM ET (old man Egg Toast aka Chuck, hubby) had a good time. Before we even got out to the highway he said "That was fun" !!!! And believe me he rarely if ever says that !!! I always have to ask if he had a good time !!!!

I am bumbed that the day went by so fast. I was trying to make it to the campfire earlier but once I sit the fat Arss down it doesn't like to get up !!! I wanted to get to meet and know more of you guys !!!! Next year we ARE going to get their as early as we can Friday. Believe it or not it is the ONLY thing ET and I plan for the year !!!! Isnt that sad !!! LOL

Glad my white elephant gifts were such a hit !!! Those were what I was going to bring last year !!!! So anyway, now the hunt is on for next years gifts.... I love to keep an eye out for stuff like that.... good reason to go shopping. Have an idea for next years in my head !!


Glad everyone made it home safe and sound. We almost didn't. I was driving and started to knod off several times. Pulled over in a parking lot in Antigo and took a nap, then had to again in Summit Lake. And no I wasn't going to let ET drive. I don't think he took his pills in the morning that he takes to stay awake !!
\And to think I answered no the the question on the sleep study if I ever knod off at the wheel !!!! Geez. Guess I should have stopped for coffee in Clintonville cause by the time I woke up at camp all the coffee was gone.
Sorry I missed breakfast with you all but when you have to take ambien to sleep cause of pain you dont wake up when the rooster crows or the birds start singing !!! LOL

But at least I beat Cindlady up !!!! LOL

Jim those pancakes were great. Even if I didn't get much syrup (don't need it anyway)

Didn't get home until who knows what time because of our road nap then had to unload all of the duckies and chickies and put them in their pens in the house again (after I cleaned them)
I can tell you one thing, I won't be ordering (if I order at all) chicks, or hatching next year BEFORE the bash or the week of the bash. Way to much hassle.

Sure was nice to put faces to names, now next year we'll get to know each other better !! lol
I took some pictures but my card reader doesnt work on my puter. I will have to go to walmart and put them on cd then upload (hopefully that will work)

Going to Wausau on Tuesday, have to be there at 1:15pm, ET got laid off again today (Crap) so making him go with so we can go buy some veggies to plant. Then hopefully can stop at Jimbo's on the way home to check out his new run.

Oh if anyone found a round black little light that isn't a flash light it is part of my tent light. I saw it on the ground when we opened up our brand new tent then just assumed (must be careful doing that) someone picked it up an put it in the van but it's not there. It snaps into the ceiling of our tent.

ok, now that's it for now..... By the way who has my night stand/cat litter box/chicken nest box that was in the white elephant ? That sure was cute and a good idea !! Who made that btw?

Oh and one more thing.... I forgot all about the soap and delishi's orpingtons !!!! My scatter brain is driving me nuts !!! Plus I wasn't following up on the bash thread at all so I had no idea there was going to be any wine tasting either !!!! Geez I need to get with the program !!! Or shut my trap or put a timer on how long I talk to one person !!! Maybe that way I can meet and greet everyone.
And next year I want an assigned chore to do, ie dishes or something. Although I think I'll do them after everyong else is asleep.. Then I wont be missing out on socializing or get run over in the morning ! lol
I was just about run over in the morning by all of you ambicous(sp) people !!! Wow, holy moly you guys work so fast. Im just a slow poke in everything I do. Dont realize my limitations until I see all you young people RUNNING around !!! LOL

We ate ETs leftover Tuna Salad when we got home..... hope everyone added more salt and pepper to it.....it tasted much better that way !!

Rainmel, the reason so many people were not on the picture is because they did not come back after the first pictures failed, and the crowd started to disperse .. Even TerriO 's screaming did not bring them back.. Did you notice the lack of kids in the picture ?? the kids that did not come back remembered the "knife" wielding psycho from last year.. ..

I sold 20 of the BO pullets yesterday.. then today, Annie found 7 dead ones behind the brooder. they must have gone back there when we were netting the 20 .. I knew a bunch of them went back there, but I thought they had enough sense to come out on their own..
lesson #28, never assume chickens will do the right thing on their own..

I am really lazy today.. 'nuf said about that..

I sold my 4 guinea keets today.. the lady is coming on the 15th to get them,, she is one who does show up.. been here a few times in the past few years..

I should take some pictures of the BO's and put them on C's List..
same with the dozen or so black chickens..

I will post the pancake recipe separately so you can copy it if you want.. I have had a few requests , and I do not want to have to repeat it so many times individually ..

in a 2 quart bowl,
break 2 eggs.
Add:
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 Tablespoons oil
3 Tablespoons vinegar
3 Tablespoons sugar (or one small handful)

whip this mixture until the eggs are well beaten..

Add:
2 cups milk
1/3 cup corn flour OR buckwheat flour . OR both .. someday I will try wild rice flour.
1 cup white flour

whisk this all until mixed well..

Add:
3 teaspoons baking soda
3 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 cup white flour
mix some more..

Now you have to learn to tweak the mixture so that it is thick, but will still flow into a perfectly round puddle on the griddle, about 1/4 inch thick.. without pushing it around with a spoon..

the baking soda sours the milk ,, sort of like buttermilk..
and it reacts with the vinegar to form those tiny bubbles which soak up the syrup..

I turn the heat to 375F..

lightly grease the pan.. too much grease causes craters on the first side of the pancake..

to oil the pan, I use grape seed oil.. but in a pinch, I will take an uncooked piece of bacon and slide it around on the griddle with the spatula.. then when you are done cooking cakes, finish off frying the bacon and eat it..

don't be afraid to add more baking soda if needed to make the cakes lighter..

a recipe is just a guide line to be adjusted as needed.
