Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Good morning all!! Missed you :)
It has taken forever to catch back up.

Welcome to the newbies! !

Camp out at to's was so much fun! The kids are a little sad to be home lol
We had tons to do :) I had too much wine with my beer, and terri had to babysit for a little bit yesterday am haha
The puggie pies were a huge hit! And the baby button quail were adorable!

All the pets faired nicely here at home. Hubby did a great job! He even found some extra time to come hang at terris last night!

I will post some pics next time I am in town!

Power is back on! We have a gas stove and city water and the dh managed to snag a generator..... So we are prepared for the next time! So glad it is not 3 days!

Checking in. Yeah, we had a doozy of a windstorm last night, 70-100mph! DH and I woke up and came downstairs to double check things; the computer room window was partially open and the wind had blown rain up to the ceiling and on the computer and into the next room too! Yipes! Everything dried out by morning though. Nothing destroyed here, even though I could feel the house shaking. Tons of lightning too.

Lots and lots of damage around us. The Maribel Caves Hotel is 75% gone. :( There is a church in New London that was demolished, some houses in a town down the road are also wrecked. Big metal power lines crumpled and down over hwy 57 near Forest Junction. DH is on his way to town and said there is lots of corn laying down in the fields. Many many people without power.

Its a migraine day here.

Bl4-I hope you have a gas stove and didn't recently go shopping!
Sorry you have a headache...Friday is good for pick up..eggs have arrived. Call to make sure I am home or let me know when you can come so i can make sure I am home.

. We have had our 6 RIR for little over a year. I then had bad luck with a couple of Barred Rocks that I got at a swap in February. Ithink they brought Mareks and Infectious bronchitis to our group even though I separated them all for about 2 months... One died of Mareks and the other a Racoon snagged. So then I got a Mottled Java, a new Barred Rock and Americana... The 3 RIR affected by the IB we are thinking of culling but havent the heart and hope their eggs keep improving... and now thanks to you all I have a almost new Excalibur Dehydrator

all the chicks are here. so cute!! but sadly not all made it. Picked them up at the post office and 8 were dead. Some good ones too. We got an assortment. Still not sure how many breeds we got. My guess is 10. We have two that are not doing so well. One is fine, just can stand up straight. the other one is very weak and sleeps a lot, not eating. The other one drinks. I got both of them to drink some electrolytes in water.

Does anyone know if I can get a refund, or more chicks for the ones that died??

:'( folton, I am sorry it is such bad luck. I know how exciing it is to get new babies. This really puts a damper on things for you. Ive read that most hatcheries are good at replacing. I only worry that because you got rare they might have to offer a different breed. Call/email them right away. I hope they are willing to help out. Good job with getting the electrolytes to them. Keep up the good work. I hope they pull through!! Keep us posted.

Colton, you get right on the phone and report the dead chicks.. and also mention the weak and dying ones also.. they should make good for all that die within the first 3 or 4 days at least.. there is something radically wrong when that many die or arrive dead..
You didn't contract to buy dead chickens..

be polite, but firm.. \

usually all you have to do is tell them and they will volunteer to replace them..
