Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

It worked :thumbsup. Seen it before and loved seeing it again:)

We have had DSL for.more than 10 ? Years when people down the road could barely get dial up because of the upgrades (aka fiber optic lines) that were put in just to our east as part of the deal cut with the Crandon mine people that never happened. I post a lot of pics I thought, guess I need to post more dazzling stuff :D . Takes me maybe 20 seconds from my laptop. Can't post from my phone because, one I have a really cheap phone, and two because there is no cell signal anywhere near me.

Doesn't look like I can get birds from Terri after all :hit it's a timing thing. Oh well, I've begged her to remember me in the spring :fl
Vicki, if you need someone to get them up north, I could get them from Terri and get them up to the Townsend area, or get them to Frenchie any time that works for you. Maybe Sandi could meet up with Jim in Antigo or somewhere on one of her excursions? Just throwing that out there. I'm not too far from Terri. And I would love to meet up with Terri & Mel if at all possible.

Sounds like fun! We took a bike ride up to Mackville yesterday for DHs family reunion. 240 miles round trip on the bike, and amazingly my keester survived.

The strange thing was, I was colder on the ride up (11am - 1pm) than on the ride back (6 - 8pm). Shoulda brought my chaps, though. Oh well. I was just glad to be riding. I wasn't sure if DHs knee would be strong enough this soon after injuring it, but he did great.

I just hope we can get more riding in this year. Winter is just too darn long. Right Jim?
Thank you CC (and BL 4 too!) For your offer of help. Wow, you guys really are enablers aren't you? :p. Ok, get in touch with Terri. I told her my neighbor and I would like to take four of the girls (total) if we can somehow get them to Antigo ( or close to?). No matter when they get there, l can have someone there to pick them up even if I can't. Thank you guys so much. You are the greatest chickie enablers ever :hugs

Quote: unlike evolution, the skeptics of climate change are bringing about the extinction of our species sooner. The choice between what is right and what is easy is always difficult.

I hope I do not live long enough to say I told you so. My grandchildren may.

I tried really hard to not comment on this. The term Global warming will come up next winter and next summer, and the winter after that. What a great name the polluters put on it for the conversation to be about if it exists instead of what could have been done. I do not expect anything to change the minds of the doubting flock, nor do I expect my flock and I will change our minds either. unless our shepherds tell us to.

And yes I can see down the fronts of your shirts from up on this soap box. Very nice.

Climate change and weather patterns are two different things. While I think we are poisoning ourselves with our pollution and misuse of chemicals, I very much doubt that humans can have so much impact on the climate to the extent that it changes course. There have been climate changes up and down for eons that humans never had anything to do with. (You guys who have been around since the dinosaurs should know that!

)Yes, we can make things worse and we need to stop doing it! But the climate is gonna do what the climate is gonna do regardless. *Just my humble opinion*

Hey everyone!  Hope you all are doing well!!!! Haven't been on in a long time. Been very busy with my kiddos and my Dad.  My Dad's Leukemia returned in May, after being in complete remission for only 2 months.  He went in for treatment in on June 10th. His immune system never was able to rebuild and he developed a fungal infection in July and wasn't able to fight it off.  He passed away July 28th, with my Mom and I by his side.  He stated when he was going in to the hospital that he had a feeling he would never be going home.  Unfortunately, he was right.
As this is all going on my chicks have grown up.  We found out we have a couple of roosters.  One of which I still have and desperately trying to find a home for as I cannot have roosters where I live.  If anyone is interested in a white polish bantam rooster with some black spots, please let me know.  I have to find him a home immediately! If you are in the central WI area, I can meet if you would like.  Thanks so much!!!  I cannot wait to catch up on everyone's chicken adventures!!! :)

Nice to see you back :clap. So sorry for your loss of your dad. How old was he? What form of leukemia did he have?

Be careful!!! The chickie enablers on here will get you!!! :lau

If you don't want to put Sevin on your food, try a mixture of Dawn and water and spray it on the plants.

CHRISTIE - are you talking about the lady beetles? If yes, they are the good guys that feed on the aphids that attack your plants.

ETA. Oops sorry, brain cramp. Lady beetles are ASIAN.

got some pictures of the flock today:) I'm impressed with my small variety of birds. This BR in the front is about 16 weeks old, any guesses on gender? The comb looks pretty red to me...... My poor cochin hen is missing some feathers on her head, my big rooster is not gentle on her at all. But he's separated now. These 4 geese are the newest members to our flock, their really shy right now. Such healthy and happy looking chooks!
