Jim: Did I see some posts back that you sell on CraigsList? I know we will have some roosters out of the eight Delawares our broody hatched this spring (still can't tell which are roos) and I will be looking to sell them. I would love to keep them, but we aren't set up for roosters. Some people have warned me not to post them on CL - what are your thoughts on this? One other question, which type of millet do you plant? Rod (hubby) has his '57 Ford tractor and several attachments now so he wants to plant a crop to winter over, would millet be good for this?the new guinea coun t is 16 more than we had 3 days ago.. I am taking all the new babies to Marlene.. she is down to only 5 keets. selling a few here and a few there.. I have not sold even one..
Our place was like Grand Central Station today.. I sold one adult guinea and Annie sold the hospital bed..

BF4me: how old are these babes, and are you keeping them in the basement so they are no where near your flock? I just got word that the Delaware pullets I ordered are ready for pick up they are 3 months. I plan to quarantine them from the main flock in a small mobile broody coop with run so they will be outside. My free range bantams and the three or four teenage escape artists from our spring broody hatch, will be out and I'm sure near the new comers pen, just won't be in with them. After reading about the issues you've had and the fact that you have these pretty little ones in the basement . . . I'm now second guessing my original plans. Maybe I will need to keep the others shut in their pens for the 30 day quarantine period . . . I'm open to comments

vickiw: gee I would be happy to give one of my roos to your neighbor, but I don't think it is the quality roo you are looking for.
