Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Good DARK morning! I am glad I went to WATER my clients' plants at 7AM! The radar shows the weather just skirting us to the South...I bet JJ, Cind and CC (maybe Vicky) are getting some NasT stuff right now! (good thing Cind is sleeping!

) We are having nice light rain...some thunder and no wind--in other words...PERFECT!

No worries! Deli had it all bleached before our arrival! No ducky poo today! Lol
The kiddos loved it!!
AWW-this looks so fun! Way to entertain the kids Vicky...nothing like a little boy and a hose...and a sister to encourage him!
You guys will have to keep me in the loop because a bash sounds like fun! Where do you guys usually have it, or do you switch it up and go to a different place every year?
As we start to plan the bash you will notice links in some of our signatures. That will take you to the information page for the celebration. If anyone is positive of the dates for next year I could start now with a page...or at least the new folks can mark their calendars!
Zing !! here's your sign ..

I have been to all the bashes,, and have met 4 people who were not ..
Hmmm--does it sound like Jim is in a contest to win those ducks? LOL!
Oh boy....here comes the RAIN!
then went to bed. Trying to sleep really stinks at this point.

I am very pleased with the ducklings from my Scovy and WH. They grow fast and big (some bigger than momma Scovy at less than 2 months), and are really uniform for mutts. They seem to have more Welsh traits than Scovy; coloring, quacking, body type, love of swimming. I think I'll try this cross again next year.
I can imagine that you would be having a bit of "trouble" in the sleep department right now. Hard to do with a squirming watermelon in the belly!

I bet I am not the only one that cant wait to see the result!

Nice job on the cross. They look good. I love my crossses with Rouen and scovie. Oh oh, power flash...better send this quick!
Later! TerriO

Now now now,, take a deep breath,, I listed only the people I met other than at the bashes.. Like the ones that really like me and came to visit ,, or let me come to visit them, or at least met someplace for lunch or whatever ..

I did forget Kim and Adam.. IDK how, they even stayed overnight a couple of times.. Sorry ??

I don't have to visit you to like you. You know our long distance relationship is much better the further AWAY from each other we are... ;-)

I suppose I'm going to have to call CC... Icky smiley inserted... ;-)

Drizzle and Ganache and doing fine. (The chocolate orps) Still skittish. I wonder if its the cage too. If they won't calm a bit more when moved to a more open area? I'm off to feed them some bread crusts soon.

My one and only wheaten chick is called the Lone Ranger. probably Ranger for short. Hopefully he's a better type that what I have so far...

l had an acquaintance show up today out of the blue while I was out back feeding chickens. Him and his wife run an organic farm and sell at the local farmers markets. He was interested in my chicks but needs 60 at one pop which I don't have at this time only about 35 that aren't bantam or bantam crosses. He doesn't care of the breed as long as their lf and brown layers. So now I have an order to hatch out 60 chicks. I thought I'd had incubators put away for the year. It's not so bad when I know the chicks will be going at a day old and I'm not stuck not knowing if they'll sell or not. Time to get the incubators fired back up and ready to roll, figure I'll start then Sat. afternoon when I get home from the swap meet. Besides I figure this way I have a constant contact to sell too for the future. He also noticed my feed and asked what I was feeding. Explained to him that I joined this group and found out about fermenting feed so give him the ingredient list that Delisha give me, think he's going to give it a try as its only going to be better for his stock.

I just want to tell everyone thank you for your kindness and help since I've joined cheeseheads. I've learned so much over the past few months and have tons more to learn but it seems that even if I hit a brick wall someone always has good advice to share.

Amyable, your ducks are beautiful. I had to show them to my daughter as she's the duck raiser around here. We are now down to 2 Cayugas as either something has been taking them or their hiding off with a clutch of eggs somewhere. When I come back up by the barn today after feeding chickens I noticed they have a new friend with them, a Mallard Hen. Wonder if she's looking to breed with our Cayuga?
