Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Do coyotes eat chickens? We had a big pack of them last night swarming around the house. Luckily they didn't discover one coop wasn't latched due to frozen snow against the door. DH spent an hour outside at 3:00a.m chasing them away and chipping out ice from the doorway and get it latched.

Yes Coyotes like chickens. I'm glad to hear they didn't get any of yours!

Hello I am looking for a tester in the Eau Claire area to come out and test my flock. I have 10 birds that will need to be tested for the upcoming show and breeding season. I test my whole flock so I can be certified for the year. willing to pay for your gas expense if you would like to come to us or we could come to you. Thank you please let me know or pm if you are or know any testers. thank you

If you are NPIP and your farm is certified all you need is copies of your paperwork. You do not need additional testing on individual birds. If you want someone local just go to the NPIP site and the listing for your county. I am sure they have several listed.

Yes coyote will eat your chickens! We have a pack living very close. Luckily we have hunters out to thin them. But we also have a very good lgd that keeps them at bay. Good luck! And glad your chickies are ok.
Good morning all!
We had our very first duckling hatch last night. I am wondering if it is normal for them to get stuck on their back occasionally. I hope he makes it! But it seems to me the chicks had better balance! We put him in a little Tupperware dish to keep him righted for now. Fingers crossed!

Chilly Day To Everyone....good luck with all the hatches going on.

I would of been out there thinning the number of yotes, so they don't come back. In a couple minutes it woulda been over. If you chase them away, they will just come back. They get really brazen when they get hungry. Besides, they taste like chicken...

I think the wild turkeys must be blabber mouths....more today than ever, and they are coming earlier in the day. Good thing winter is almost over....

I told DH he needs to go buy a gun!

Howdy all! I am stuffed...sometimes you just need to make yourself a gourmet lunch!

Probably not too fancy for most of you but I stopped at P&S while in Watertown today and got some GF bread that I really love...picked up some of Amy's tomato soup too. It was yummy and now I feel like I need a nap before I head to work--and I just might go up and take one!

I dont think I told you about the new hoses I ordered from Canada. OMG--they are fantastic! I got a pretty good deal on them from Amazon and I am wishing I would ave bought two more. My rubber ones are working for now. These are flexible down to 40 below...exactly what we need in this state this year!

OK--heading off for a power nap...stay warm! TerriO

tell us more about the hoses.. now much $$$ American ??

Bro Dave picked me up and we went and got the geese that we had butchered.. the guy said they did them by hand because 9 were not enough to melt the wax for.. they look really nice.
total bill for 9 geese was $128.oo....

My coop door is frozen open.. I will soon be taking it down and cutting 3 inches off the bottom..

I had to LOL at a puppy last night.. when daddy Puppy stopped to sniff it, the puppy unloaded on the old man with lots of barking and growling..

Puppy is trying real hard to butter up to me after our "training session" yesterday.. after I went into the house, he took the dead guinea in question and hid it.. I suppose he figures now I am supposed to forget all about it ??
