Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Hi all--keeping nice and warm in a really big wool sweater I never thought it would be cold enough to wear! Feels pretty good. Just filled the oil tank again--$750. That is the third fill this winter...I am glad we went with a different company though cause the first one was just over $1000! DH is gone this week so I will be fighting his programming on the auto thermostat--I dont care for it to be so warm in here...that's why I buy these big sweaters!

It even covers my butt! I was sweating doing chores for sure.

I asked Dawg53 about Tommy and his perpetual sneeze/cough. He seems to think that since Tylan50 had no eggect on his symptoms that it is something else. He mentioned Sour Crop (not it) and impacted gizzard? Has anyone heard of this condition? He advised to give him tomato juice. I did...he didnt want his he wanted MINE! (with vodka!) LOL--did you expect anything else? I shared it with him. IF anything, perhaps it will help him feel better?

Well- I think I will colse my eyes before I head to work...I am still not feeling spectacular!
I hope all are having a great day--if it cant be warm, at least the sun is shining! TerriO

(PS) cind--I do think you need to use like a water bottle sized opening for it to work...something with the vacuum I am sure--scientists?

Is there a 'magic temperature' when it is safe to have fertilized eggs shipped? If it is supposed to be warmer next week (around 30~) is there still a chance they will freeze coming across country? I know most sellers bubble wrap them, does that give them any insulation? I REALLY need some eggs going into my bator, but don't want to be out the $$ if they arrive frozen.
Thanks!

Hi All!

Yup Jim, been making Angle Food cake since I was 10. I break them in a bowl then poor them into a glass measuring cup. I always wash everything I'm going to need just before I start too, just to make sure there's no grease. The one that didn't come out "right" didn't look totally mixed when I poured it in the pan, I tried mixing it better in the pan. Guess it didn't work. LOL

TO... Yea, the only smaller mouth bottle I had was a 2 litter and that just seemed too clumsy.

I see in your signature that you have "one lonely Swedish Flower Hen rooster". I have 2 hens and no rooster. :(

Maybe they need a play date.

I wish you weren't so far away, that would be perfect.
Hey folks...the bash is coming up! Just bring said birds along and let them have fun all weekend! Simple pimple! Maybe your girls will even produce some eggs so the "donor" can take them home! LOL--just call me the chicken dating service!

Went to work today even though I am under the weather...DH is gone so I am taking it easy on me and the furnace! LOL!

Going to eat some shrimp and sauce and then heading to bed! Nighties! TErriO

Is there any info about the bash anywhere for newbies? Didn't see any on the bash forum.

good evening, I would not have eggs sent across country right now .. sometimes they fly them in air cargo and no amount of bubble wrap will withstand that kind of cold..

have the person sending them guarantee that they will arrive in perfect shape.. IDK< maybe they can request ground travel ?? I still think it is risky..

can't you find some eggs closer that you could drive to pick up ??

Nice self portrait Terri ..

looks like Annie will be home for a couple more days,, her client is still in the hospital showing no improvement ..

One of these days I should start getting the incubators ready.. I would like to get some of that stuff to wipe the plexiglass doors with to renew the transparency .. or at least give them a good washing with soapy water ..
