Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Hope all your ducklings hatch, Jim and CL! Hope you're ready for the mess. ;)

Weather is hot here today (about 85) and tonight til the end of week we're supposed to have thunderstorms. Just great... So who wanted some rain? Come up and grab some! I'm sure there's plenty for everyone to come!

Cleaned all the duckies today, put them in their fenced in areas (as we both aren't home til later this afternoon) and my big gang is free ranging as usual. They always stay close and just head down to our STILL existing lake. Not as bad anymore, but with all the rain in the forecast, who knows?!

SO wants to finish the roof tonite before the rain comes. Gotta admit, it starts looking real good! Can't wait to be inside shielded from skeeters and looking at the fire pit in the evenings...

Gotta run now but will probably annoy you all later. Cu...

Hey everyone I need some help finding baby buff orphington chicks in the madison wi area. Any suggestions, or any suggestions on a hatchery?

Yes I LOVE a good storm, but do NOT want anyone to be injured or killed or lose property...... so pay attention to the skies folks, not just the radio and the news. Your best defense is a good offense so use your own judgement.

Going to pick up youngest DS tomorrow. It sure has been quiet in the house without him! I do miss him a lot too, he is such a sweetie and is still at that age where he will give hugs. My cousin thinks she is adopting him......

Kristi, I would help you out in the job department if I could. At least you will have the summer off.

Hold off the storms until i finish planting the garden!! This little buggar baby wont go to sleep so here i sit in the bedroom waiting him out. Clock's ticking small fry......

good afternoon,, all I have left to do is put the squash seeds in..

I planted the millet patch,, tried the shallow tilling .. that was a no go.. the ground is too soft and the tiller went too deep, so I gave up on that idea and just watered the heII out of it, hoping the dirt would cover at least most of the seeds.. I planted them quite thick, so I think some of them will grow..

I also mowed a good amount of blackberries down.. I am hoping I can train the squash fines to go onto the grassy area instead of across the garden..

I was watching the tornadoes in Nebraska.. awesome .. 2 on the ground at a time ..

we don't need that here.. come to think of it, they didn't need that there either ,,

the second duck is still pipped.. sure taking his sweet time about it..

Jim I was in your area working today. Working off of J on Kersten Road. Nice folks. Long day trying to work in pine plantations.
I was amazed at the low # of skeeters. Horse flies were out...but not to bad. Nice area & great weather. Getting to the age it takes 90+ to bother me....20's to start wishing for 90's.

Not much here today.

The chicks are getting picked on, feathers pulled, and blood as a result. I put all but one (it hid and I couldn't get it out of the rabbit hole) up in the coop to roost separated from the adults in the enclosed run. I figured everyone could use a break. There are too many in one space as I can't let them out without Theo being supervised right now. When I was in the coop, I kept calling him (the name game) and giving him treats. I want him to associate them as good versus bad at this point while I can correct him when he gets too nosy.

I've got 6 layers and 5 chicks. I need to get back down to around 8. One of the chicks is a roo (blue orp possibly mixed with gold laced), so that will bring me down to 10.

CC- I sure hope DH doesn't have cat scratch! His hand really looks bad!

Jim & Amy- did you get your planting completed before the storm rolled in? I've got to plant TO's super hubbard squash still.

bl4-any interview news?

Cind- how are you feeling? Better?

It has been feeling like it is in the 90s since I woke up this morning. Yuck!

Vicki, we have 7 lil peepers! 2 eggs still in the bator. I'm not too optomistic about them, but I will give them another day or two.

They are beautiful, plump, healthy chicks. Thank you again soooooooooo much!

I sent my sis some pics of them & she was really impressed with their quality. She is very grateful to you and your generosity also.
