Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Hey guys, I've never been to a show before and I was wondering if I came up if anyone would wanna take a look at a rooster I have for sale. He's a beautiful 5 month old black Australorp cockerel that I regret having to sell. It'd be nice to get 50$ for him because he is such a great tempered and beautiful bird that loves to crow all day

and if u want someone to watch over ur flock he's excellent with that too

my email is [email protected] if u want pics or to see him.

please post some pics here we don't often get to see $50 roosters

Evening all. Still tired after a long day yesterday volunteering at the spay/neuter clinic. They did about 30 or so animals. Couldn't find one nut in a dog which delayed things quite a bit. Of course I wanted to bring all or the small dogs home. Lol
They're having a shot clinic in October. I offered to volunteer for that. I need to bring my gang to but it might be a bit much for one day so might bring a few to the Rhinelander shot clinic too.
SC lark I read your comment about French in posts......whatcha talking about?
Not sure we will have the camper for next year's bash. ET managed to bend the slide in rails for the beds. The camper was in the driveway. We had been sleeping in it quite often. Then because of all the rain we had one day to move it and the trailer/coop out of the driveway to get the player piano in. So he took the brackets off but didn't take the stuff off the beds. Bent beyond repair. It's my fault cause I wanted that player piano! I wasn't home to supervise the situation. So now we don't have one piece of equipment or item that ISN'T broke !
Have no idea how much it is going to cost to repair. Guess the parts are hard to come by for Coleman ! Geezzzz.
Having a good time trimming the donkey feet ourselves. We sedated the one that kicked the farrier last year and let me tell ya. HE sure was RELAXED if you know what I mean !
OK time to check out CL and try to get to bed early. The days are getting shorter and shorter. Not good.

I hope her knee is okay! What's for dinner? (I'm always looking for ideas.)

yep her knee is okay just bruised and sore but she was cleared to play...her team won their match

we had left overs for dinner- brats, hamburgers, mac & cheese, spaghetti and chicken chili so if anyone went hungry it wasn't my fault!!

time to get kids headed to bed...

Stacie, I do t like to buy feed from F&F period and our birds all don't like it. IMO the again aster brand just simply sucks. And the nutrena is more powder than anything and will not get eaten when not clumped up with water. Just gonna stick with purina flock raiser. For all our birds. They love the crumbles (pellets get ignored for days on end), the quality is good and I can give it to all birds no problem.

Where do you usually get your feed from and how much is it? Always looking for alternatives.

Not much new here. The birds don't like the disappearing lake, but bask in the sunshine when left alone by the geese. Lol. They prefer chasing and pulling chicken feathers anyways...

The brat finally went OTR again early Monday, SO took this week off so we both get to have some alone time to relax. Reminded him nicely about him hooking up at least the cold water lines (no need reminding them guys more than once every 6 months, right?!) cause I'm really tired of heading always to the bathtub for water to cook, clean etc. And an affordable washer we found on CL was sold to someone else as the guy didn't bother to check his phone calls. Great. Urgh

Would love to go to the wheeler swap this Saturday but putting the birds thru all that stress and long drive for nothing again just doesn't sit well with me. Plus, would need the gas money to get there. Guess we stay were we are for now and (hopefully) try for the Neillsville swap. Just not amused by an aquatints ce not too far that sells his birds for dumping prices over CL not far from us. Not gonna sell our young birds for $5/piece just to get rid of them! Gee. But if anyone is interested in a bonded pair of young Pekins let me know ;)

Don't wanna make FT more competition in posting so off I go for the day. Night everyone!

I get my feed at Rusk Co Farm Supply. Gary there raises chickens and has made the layer mash($20 avg per hundred) they sell. I also buy my medicated starter there it is Prince($17 per fifty) brand.
The last time I bought from that farm supply place in St. Croix Falls I got mold in my feed and swore I wouldn't buy from a store like that again but I slipped up bad.

I know the older ducks have been selling better at the past couple of sales. Well older anything has been selling, not many want little chicks right now and I have about 50 of them.

Hi All!

Another non exciting day, just going crazy looking for bottles for the ink.

Night All.
good morning,
Cind, what style of bottle are you looking for ? glass? plastic? 1 oz? 2 oz?
I assume wide mouth so you can dip a pen into it ?
what price range ?

I am just about done with my first cuppa.. still might head on over to Marathon for b'fast ..

I did some research into my archives and found out that the guy who said he was interested in buying my guineas is the same guy who answers CL ads.. leads you along and then when the buying time arrives, he bales ... I thought I recognized that name,, Sheng Oko .. beware .. he also goes by another name,, "something" Vang ,,, he is harmless, but wastes a lot of your time, lives in Milwaukee..

I went through all the trouble to corral all of my guineas for him..

..

not an easy task,,

.

there are 30 guineas in the lean to pen..

now, do I keep them penned ? or turn them loose again ?

I put them on CL for $7.oo/ea.. better price if you take them all ..

..........jiminwisc........

Wow Jim, that is a lot of guineas. It must be deafening in that pen!
hens n roos, congrats to your daughter :)
Stacy, so sorry about your Foly guy. ThT is a hard hit for sure. Were you able to at least get eggs/chicks from him? Hope so.
we are using feed mill food. And loving it. It is just so fine. I feel a lot gets wasted. Do any of you guys have fine textured feed? WhT type of feeders do you use?
tonight I am going to mKe an attempt to teach Thunder to lunge. I have watched tons of viseos. And think I have the just of it down. I tought Brownie with no issues. But he is smaller and easier to manage! If I do not post, it is because Thunder ran me over and I am in the hospital lol
