Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Question: With the poop board beneath the roost bars, I have noticed that I have a pullet, OE, that has watery poop. No discoloration or blood.
has been this way since I got them all on same roost ( about 3 weeks ). Looks healthy, active, eats & drinks.....without the poop boards
not sure I would have noticed. The OE, along with rest of flock ....about 18 weeks old.

Any ideas?

Good chilly evening everybody! Ready for the chilly weather yet? I know I'm not, and our molting birds are probably not looking forward to it either. But not much you can do when it comes to Mother Nature.

Been on BYC every day and reading the posts, but somehow my app won't let me write. It keeps kicking me out after typing a couple of letters, reloads, type, kicking out. So I pretty much leave it be for now. Someone's gotta do an update on that app!

Otherwise so far so good here. No more bears, kitties but tons of wild bunnies and chippies. The trap stays up though, just in case, and he does his perimeter checks every hour or so (besides going out to smoke and taking the brat's dog too). The dogs are doing good too but not liking the cooler weather as they can't be out in the pen anymore all day long to play so they stay inside and doze all day, lazy bums!

Oh yea, the brat will be back for a few days tomorrow too

, so I either plan on getting out of the house for a few hours or simply ignoring him until he learns to show some more respect. Not sure what the military did to him, or rather California, but ever since coming back he has no sense of humor, respect or helpful bone anymore. And I don't like it. So if there is nothing coming from his side, there won't be anything from my side either!

Just feeling really restless here, really in the mood to have a change of scenery, even if it's just for a few hours to get away. Luckily the duckies do all good and I can grab my daily dose of hugs and snuggles from my Quincy and now from our newly added Black Orp (Lav split) chick Aretha too. Got her from Stacy on my way of getting some much needed (and already eaten) duckweed and picking up an Ameraucana rooster for SO's brothers chickens.

Also got to finish the barn, or rather I watched him finishing it, added lights on the inside as it is a wee bit on the dark side otherwise, and the duckies can now stay all together in one big crowd under cover throughout the day and out of the chilly winds. Will work even better in winter to have one snow free area for the birds to go into.

Nothing else new besides boredom and restlessness on my side and a complete lack of money. Even finished all our last reserves of dog food so really gotta get some dog food as we're officially out now. Poor critters! Even managed to finally figure out how to fix my laptop and am able to go online again after an entire week of swearing, cursing, hair pulling and steaming out of my ears.

Not sure what else to write, but you probably all skipped to the next post by now anyways

so I better quit it and move on.. Later all and stay warm!

Hi All!

Nice additions to the flock Sclark!

No 'yote as of dusk. Rudy was having a good bark at something then tough.

I steamed that squash, mashed it with butter, salt and pepper. It was OK. I did it that way to get a "base flavor", Now I can get creative with it. lol

Night All!

Wow! Very quite day.
Kildare, I would think if she acts normal otherwise all is well.
Still no eggs here. The molt is in full swing for sure! The horses are getti g their winter coat. And I am loving the changes in Thunder. I think this weekend I will scoop out all of the pens and coops. And fill them with leaves. We sure have enough! The kids will not be happy with all of the chores Ihave planned I am off wwork Saturday.

Remember that gelding that I was going to sell because he was such a PITA? Well, the new owner broke her ankle when he reared up on her. She took him to a "trainer". He actually reared up to the point of flipping over onto the trainer and he broke her leg! He was a handful here, but never did anything like that. She was looking to me for answers. I don't have any. Lol. I gave her the name of an excellent trainer (Sid Zacharias), but not sure if she contacted him.

Free dog food would be nice but no such thing around here.

Wow, I can actually type without it kicking me out for a change! Unbelievable!

SO forgot to mention that he's off work today and tomorrow. He's picking up the brat from Marshfield as we read (cause speaking just don't fit here) after starting to clean (!!! of all things!!!) his piles of stuff everywhere. Was surprised that the carport is walkable without obstacle climbing and even clean (swept and all!) and now it's on to his little additions. Wonder of wonders. But I don't complain. This way I can actually see what I'm looking for and actually finding it too!

So yea, not looking forward to a weekend of being ignored and with 2 elusive and untalkative guys around. I might just have to make a surprise visit to get more duck weed at someone's place (wink wink Stacy!)... Just to get out. Or head back to town again. Not sure yet. But gotta do something...

Sure is chilly and breezy out too. Dogs starting to not be so happy to head outside anymore. Can't say I blame them as I don't like bundling up much either. So off to hires I go. Later!

good afternoon,

went fishing yesterday.. man, was that cold.. not a bite.. bro Dave caught one crappie..

the man from Abbotsford came for his guinea today.. ended up taking 3 of them,, actually WANTED a rooster.. I hope we got him one..
I turned the guineas loose again..

had frost on the windshield this morning..

Cind, I hope you can make something really tasty with your squattermellons ..

I tried taking a nap this afternoon,, got woke up by Annie making thumping noises.. couldn't figure it out what she was doing.. went and looked,, she was sorting potatoes.. OK, but now I am wide awake..

I should go outside and hook up the back blade on Ollie..

would like to scrape the driveway a bit, but it always goes better right after it rains..

bbp, you did tell the lady that the horse was a handful, didn't you ? then I wouldn't feel guilty about what happened.. especially to the "trainer". he/she should know horses enough to expect the unexpected..

in the olden days we had a cure for horses who reared or tried to hit with their heads.. I suppose it would not be politically correct to do it today, but the treatment seldom needed repeating..
