Ht All!

Well, this was another short of posts day.

I'm a bit worried and ****** at DH. He got his blood work results back from the VA. Sugar is high, cholesterol (both) is high and he now has thyroid issues. He's trying to blame me for the meals I cook.

He eats 1 meal a day I make for him!!! I try real hard to make sure meals are balanced, low fat and low salt! The few things I make that have bad fat in them we only have once in a while. Some meats do have surface fat, but then... Don't Eat the fat part! Like with steak or a roast.... he eats the fat too!

He says "We have too many potatoes" I said "We only have them 2 or 3 times a week." " Well, potatoes turn to sugar." "Well, so dose any starch and you have 2 English Muffins in the morning!" GRRRRR!!! He also has a bowl of cereal or ICE CREAM before bed! I don't know what he eats for lunch. I used to pack him lunch but he said he doesn't have time to sit and eat at work.

hummm. I know I've seen "junk food" and Kwick Trip bakery bags in his car too. But I'm not feeding him right.

Funny thing, when I got MY test results a few months ago, my numbers were real good. BP was kinda high, but my cholesterol was even a little on the low side!
Sorry,

.... I just get frustrated. End of rant....

Sorry that your hubby insists on making his problems your fault. Things will only improve for him when he decides to take ownership and face his issues instead of blaming someone else. It sounds like you are doing the best you can. Feel free to come on here and rant - we all need to once in a while.

Have you seen the new "science" that says that the cholesterol in the food you eat has no impact on the blood cholesterol levels. DH and I have been saying that for years.

We are on Weight Watchers here. We both need to lose some, I need to lose a lot more. he gets almost 20 points more than I do on the diet. I plan and cook meals so we have leftovers. I pack his lunch, cut up his grapefruit in the morning and cook his suppers. I calculate the points of everything. He eats what I eat, then adds Oreo's, windmill cookies and kringle to fill out his menu. He frowns at me when I have 3 mini-Oreos (counted into my points for the day). He lost 2 pounds, I lost 0.6 pounds last week. It's not fair, but that is how it works, men just lose faster and easier than women. There - my rant for the day...

Hopefully today is warmer like they are predicting. I need to go to town and buy some shoes. I have been trying to avoid this, but I need them so I can get back on my exercise program. I feel so much better when I get my exercise in.

Aww Cind...hugs to you! it is hard when you try and they go somewhere else and eat for sure. My DH has decided to go back to the gym, to get back in "shape"...I told him start carrying your lunch instead of eating out and I have a whole bunch of workouts to do right here on the farm. Well, you can imagine how that went over!

Yuo--we can all rant...at least we have each other!

Brought a young pullet into the house. My big turkey was picking on her and she seemed to be getting frozen feet. She is sharing with Tommy for now. (Just loving laying under his lamp!) She is the only one left from the wild chicken's late hatch last fall. Tommy seems to like the company too.

Heading out for chores. I dont like the sound of that wind...yesterday was OK--the sun was out and no wind(at least in my yard...)

Have a good one! TErriO

I could blame Annie for cooking the wrong meals, but I just eat small portions of the "bad stuff" ..
nobody can watch your diet for you.. and you can't blame somebody else for your condition..

on that note, we are going out for supper tonight,, Annie's birthday,, chimichangas all around..
tomorrow I can diet again,,

I pulled minor maintenance on the truck today,, and then started Ollie up to make sure he would start in case we get the snow they are forecasting,,

the sun sure felt nice and warm,, despite the strong wind..

Gus and Frankie are stretched out on the snowy ground soaking up the sun,,

so i got off the phone with the department of agriculture just a bit ago...had alot of questions for them...one thing i found interesting....is that they said when you quarantine your birds for 4-6 weeks about halfway thru you place one of your birds in with them to see if your bird get sick...has anyone heard such a thing...
Delisha does this with all of the birds that she brings home. BTW, how is she? Anyone heard from her this week?

Today is my dad's birthday too!

Nothing new here....frozen eggs, when I get them that is. I did find out the reason for my lack of eggs and sudden frozen waterer, the dang birds knocked the plug loose! Fixed it this morning, come on eggs!

BTW, the "thaw" will happen. I'm hunting that Puxatawny Phil down. When I find him, he will not want to ever predict more winter and cold weather!
