Random question:

We're having some local friends' kids chicken-sit for us while we're on vacation. They'll be stopping by once each day to collect eggs, check on the girls, and top off food/water as needed. 15 min or less daily.

What would you pay them for this -- keeping in mind they'll probably be able to take home a few eggs each day, too?

Depends on how old they are under 13 give them $20 each older than that more other wise you will have some cranky neighbor kids. I used to water the neighbors plants and stuff while they'ed go to Canada 6 times a year (wish I had that kind of money) but they'ed pay me $20 for a week and it was easiest money ever. Most of the time it's rain 5 of the days they were gone

Hello all,

I'm hoping you can help me out. This is my 6-week-old Black Australorp roo. He is still feathering in but seems to be losing his down much faster than his feathers are coming in. He looks like this under his wings and near his vent on the sides, and his feathers look frazzled. I don't know if this is normal- or if not, what it could be. Any ideas?

Hi All!

glanerchicks..... It depends on how old they are and what it's going to take to get there. $5 a day at least.

When my son was over he blocked off the way to the loft area so the chickens wouldn't go up there anymore. He did check before he put the wire up..... had a hen looking down at me tonight!

I want a really colorful Rooster. Does anyone near Clintonville, Appleton, Shawano have any for sale? And, another question,,,,,,,does a rooster have anything to do with the breed in chicks?
