Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Nice pics, cuties!

@irishrovr I have had rabbits for as long as I can remember; we got our family's first when I was in fifth grade and have had them straight through. My two are in the living room as we speak

I have had plenty of experiences with care, disease, etc., so let me know if you need help! Mine are pets, though- don't know if yours are more like livestock. I'd be more than willing to share advice.

Tough Packer game today. Spent yesterday fishing though, had bass and pumpkinseed fish pan fried for dinner last night! Hubby was happy because I helped clean them.

MMM--fresh panfish! Lucky you!

Hi all--been AWOL for a while--work is consuming all of my time along with the garden and the kids! We had fun last night at Rhythm on the River. The wine was pretty pricey but the music was good.

Dinner tonight was chicken and corn on the cob (all grilled) and I made a veggie of garden stuff...eggplant, Zucchini, runner beans, tomatoes and mushrooms; all sauteed in Olive oil with some parmesan sprinkled on top--it was delicious! We also had thick tomatoe slices with S&P and fresh basil pesto. I am very full! It was nice having the kids here too...glad they could take some produce!
I have some mystery critter in my garden eating my beets! I wanted to add some to diner and all of them in the garden are chewed through! I have a pic of them...too tired to post it though. any ideas?

Cuties--I have been missing your pics! Glad it is working for you now. You guys ALL went riding? HOw fun! We unloaded hay to day...no sweating at all! LOL. PLanning on coming to camp?

OK I am too tired--off to beddies for me! Night! TerriO

good evening ,

firstchik, I read all the posts.. I don't know about chicken poop.. my chickens poop all over creation and I don't bother checking up on them,,

I do know that each poop can change according to what they eat and drink.. just like all living creatures..

I also do not have any advice about the soft tummy.. again, I don't hardly ever pick up a chicken ,
and I never picked one up to check how soft it's belly was..

I do not doctor my chickens.. I am not a vet.. If one appears to be sickly, we put it into a cage and hope it lasts long enough to make it to butchering day ..

Terri,, my vote is mice or thirteen stripped gophers ..

Hey, guys, I looked on BYC to see if I could find out something about poop color.  One of my production girls(or sexlink) don't know which, yesterday started to poop a orange color poop, today she is pooping black with clear bubbly on top.  I cannot find any info.......any advice?   I have her separated in the tractor coop, brought her in and gave her a warm bath w/epson salt in the water.  She slept on my lap for about an hour, hair dryer to her feathers and she went right to roost when we took her out to the tractor.  Her eyes are clear, and her comb is red.....she was being picked on because I saw a tiny spot of blood on her comb and an area under one of her wings.  Am concerned about the poop, tho.

Most likely, no response, no idea. Try creating a new thread? That way not just the Wisconsinites can help.

Sorry I have no idea on your concerns. I'm new at this whole thing too.

Terri- you sure the "mystery animal" isn't a chicken? :D

Hi All!

Firstchick.... yep, sometimes if people don't know the answer they just won't say anything. Yes, peppers and some other things can cross. Last year I had some really weird squash! Terri O I think did too. Humm, I bet those pepper crosses would make some neat pickled peppers!
I thought I had a poop color chart.... Google... "Chicken poop" I'm sure you'll find one.

Phoenix346.... I have relatives up there too! Hayward, Cable, Drummond, Grandview up to Ashland!

cuties..... glad you can do pics again!

Irish... Good luck with your new projects!

That hen is still hanging in there, other than not eating she looks good, acts OK.

Guess that's it..... Night All!

Went out and checked on her, she has a little bit of white stuff on her lower feathers but not much and she seems to be doing ok. Still looking good.. Thanks for the post, I thought I was being ignored. As far as the peppers, if I could tell by looking at them if they jalapeno hot or the cross, I would pickle them, but smelling the outside uncut gives no odor.

Got both of them answered Thank you. Jim, I think, told me to go to google and post chicken poop which I had already done, but, the second time I found a chart that I shared on here, but, the chart did not answer my question about the poop.

Well, my chickens have been screaming spontaneously for the past 3 days or so. I figured out the reason why when I saw my roo grab a pullet by the neck!

My little man is growing up! Poor pullets, they don't get it yet... everyone is about 15 weeks.
