Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Nice Sunny Afternoon here...kinda funny cuties...we call them boo boo's!

Great job on the building projects...from pluckers to extreme coops...quite the Cheesehead talent here!

Hunting tonight...time for some peace in the woods.

Hi all!

Been awhile. Had a Siamese(sp?) growing up. A lot of great stories.

Good to hear you are done with the plucker Jim. I still have 5 broiler hens. I have never had an issue getting them to weight until this group. With work schedule...not going to complain. Another warm week forecast ...so I can wait.

Lost one of our brahma pullets, and our roo ( T-Rex ) is sick as well. Began treating...will see how he responds. With 2 birds showing signs...treated all.

I have to admit...much simpler doing meat birds. Predators have been kept at bay...but have friends not that far away that got hit during daylight by yotes. Our fox kills were all during daylight...was hoping I wouldn't have to deal with yotes as well.

Were did the year go? With work, the to-do list has grown very long. Oh well....change the year on the spring & summer list....and make wood cutting 1-3 on this years list.

Yes, I am all done with the plucker.. today I had to make a loooong extension with a 7/16" socket on the end to tighten the set screw under the feather plate,, can't get my hand in there with a wrench,, I ground the round part of the head of a long carriage bolt and left the 3/8" square part intact.. taped the socket to it, stuck it onto the bolt head and used a vice grip for a handle..

I ran the plucker for a few minutes to see if it would hold together or fly apart... it held..
the electrical switch even worked..

I can attest to the durability of the plucker.. I was lifting it off of the saw horses.. it is very heavy..
anyway, I couldn't hold it and I dropped it . no damage done..
i guess it weighs in about 100 pounds.. maybe a little more.. but that is a good thing when spinning a turkey or goose in it..

they are talking rain tomorrow, so butchering will be on Friday I guess..
