Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

I picked up 4/5 eggs so far today..

water is dripping off of the roofs like mad..

I imagine when it starts to get colder, we will have some nice icicles ..

I let both dogs loose today,, so far they are hanging around in the yard.. they most likely will head down to the river for awhile..

Good rainy day to you all! Ice is definitely melting here too. The chickens were huddled in the smallest part of the coop earlier today, presumedly to stay dry? Still only getting one egg a day, and I think it's from the same bird the lav orp from CC! I will definitely need a few more of those CC.

Thanks to you all, now I'm craving goat meat and Jim's pancakes!!!!! For those of you that have not had Jim's pancakes at the bash, you don't know what you're missing. BTW-I already have a ton of white elephant & auction items!!!!

My arm swelled up real big and when I woke up Thursday morning, I just couldn't believe my eyes. It swelled from Thursday through Friday from my wrist up past my shoulder and into my back/neck and chest. Doc called in a blood test, CT scan, and vein imagery. All clear. Saturday, I woke up and the swelling has decreased but I had a rash on the upper arm. With no injury, no blockage, etc I am left with an allergic reaction to something? Oh well, I'm on the mend although still itchy! I must need another Benadryl?

A good week to you all.

Sunday Afternoon to everyone....Boring without any football today. Just finished reading the Appleton Sunday paper....cool article in their about a lady that makes jewelry out of the old silver spoons and forks that grandma hands down to folks or the stuff you can buy from antique stores and flea markets. Turns them into all kinds of stuff that sells reasonably for $15 to $50...a lot of rings and bracelets...just sayin is all.

My snow pack driveway is looking like a skating rink.

The parking lot between my barn and the store is glare ice! Had to be very careful when hauling water today. Baby chicks and baby quail are hatching out nicely. The two brooders will be busy for awhile!

We are working on the Taj Mahal coop in the barn and have 11 boarders in there for a couple of months. It's coming out nicely in spite of having nothing in the barn that's level, square or straight.

The Hubs is working hard!

Making use of the old horse stall near the back door

An old sliding door will make up part of the wall

Old storm door with lots of windows will go in next

Hand warmer!

Chickaroos trying out the new digs

"Who are you calling 'Chickaroo'?"

The committee approves the roost

The roost is hinged to the wall so it can be raised up and hooked to the ceiling for cleaning.

Be careful, soon you will have accomidations for way more chickens than you want..

I went into the garage today and slipped through the door.
I forgot to tell Annie.. I will tell her later when she calls from work.. she seldom goes in there, but there always is a chance.

a few days ago there was someone p'ing and moaning about not being able to find quail. never heard from them before, or since.

I have a medium sized very colorful rooster.
He is a breed, but I forgot what Brian said he was.
for re-homing. very cheap,, maybe even free..
I didn't want it, I still don't want it.. it is very tame..
If I remember, I will take a picture ..

kind of boring with nobody talking tonight..

I will stay here a little longer, then going to watch TV ..

Went to a "game feed" for supper. Ate about 50 lbs of bear meatloaf, bbq raccoon, antelope stew, buffalo meatballs, elk stroganof, and I dunno WHAT all else. Now I've got elk stuck in my teeth, and heartburn.

I'm thinkin' raccoon would make good vindaloo (an escpecially hot and stinky curry).
