Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

I am 6 miles east of Clintonville....I think this was called something else last year. They have a white elephant sale? Couldn't make it then, maybe this year.

that is it, ..
you should really try to make it, at least for a little while.
Yes, we have the white elephant sale and raffles..
lots of talking and putting faces with names ..

Saturday is the white elephant and raffle

you might arrive as a stranger, but you will go home as a friend..

Hey anybody that wants to answer?

How big are ya'lls gardens.......I have a 15 x 30 and it does not seem big enough for all I wanted to plant....did not get corn, lettuce, beets, radish or carrots in.....I have 16 tom plants, probably 12 hot peppers and 4 red, yellow and bells. I also got, 2 cuke plants, 4 broccoli, 4 cauliflower, 1 watermelon and 2 cantaloupes.
This year I have 9 20x20 plots for a total of 3600 sqft. Each plot in the first 8 is planted with a specific group of seeds/plants for crop rotation purposes. The other bed is herbs and flowers. The rotation is beans, roots, squash, potatoes, corn, brassicas, peas and finally tomatoes. Have done larger, but that was when my neighbor was still alive and had his Ollie to help. I have a family from town who comes out and plants a 20x20 every year, some years I have a couple families, but not this one. Usually they come out, plant for a year and after they figure out what they are doing they build a garden or raised bed at their own home.

Hoping to make it for one day of the Bash.

Finishing my coffee, adulting today. Graduation for the 5th grader (overrated) in an hour and for my senior tonight. In-laws due to show any time now....

good morning, gave me a little start there, adulting, not adulterating . maybe I should finish my coffee before I start reading. I mean, I have heard confessions, but none quite like that ..

.I had nothing planned for yesterday, and I pretty much stuck to my plan. man oh man, does that make for a long boring day..

this morning I saw an animal walking in the apple tree. at first I thought it was a gray squirrel , but we don't have them here normally. and it wasn't jumping from branch to branch, just walking the length of a branch. I watched for a long while but it didn't show itself again.

making a trip to Marathon feeds. going to switch the chicks to ground corn and oats as soon as this bag of starter is gone; in a couple of days.

IMHO, Saturday is the best day for the bash. that is when the white elephant and raffle takes place.

the nights around the fire pit are not without merit, either.

I lowered the temp on the bator about a half a degree. it was OK where it was, but why not try for perfection anyhow ?

I was cruising through C>List last night, lots of bators for sale. a 1502,.
I have one of those. they are good machines ,

we used to do a 200 x 200 garden, and in different years we changed garden locations and sizes.
had one about 30 x 250 for a couple of years.
now mine is about 25 x 120.
this might be my last year of gardening..

I'm thinking this might be my last year of the three big gardens. The hubs needs more back surgery and I can't do it all myself.

I wish we had the right soil to be able to move the garden around. We have sand. But, since I have been helping with the garden (we moved in with my MIL after my FIL passed) I make sure that we add back to the dirt every year.

Ok, have an issue......those 26 really stupid birds I have.....the other night it was raining buckets and these chicks are all huddled by the fence...would not go in the coop with the big girls. So we took a truck topper into the run thew most of the chicks under it....we put a log in there for them to roost on and feed...figured the rest would find their way in...nope, they went out and joined the brood. Now it is raining today and guess where the dummies are...........outside in the rain....what do I do??? Will it hurt them to do their thing in the rain?

I will be there....do I need to bring anything?

On Saturday, there is pot luck .. If you don't feel like cooking, potato chips or something like that always goes good.
One of these years, FT might bring ice cream..

If you want to participate in the white elephant, bring some item wrapped in newspaper or stuck in a brown paper bag or wrap it pretty if you are so inclined..
just so it cannot be identified
and bring some U.S. $$$ if you want to buy raffle tickets.
