Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Hi,

Well the kids are moving into our old house this weekend. I haven't stopped out all week so I'll go over the weekend and see how it's going.

Work picnic today. Everyone gets a 50 dollar chamber gift certificate just for showing up. May as well go for a while anyways. There's a ton of stuff being given away from kayaks to grills as well. Should be an okay time. Have a great day everyone and enjoy the gorgeous weather

this is the first time I ever heard of anyone bribing people to come to their party . to make it really stick, you should have to spend a certain amount of time there, and then get your $$ when you leave.. Put that into their suggestion box, Corey..

today is my official stretch out about 250 feet of hose day .
it will be on a downward slope, so there will be enough pressure to water the grass seed. I used to have my garden on that spot, so I know it will work .

I had one of my favorite breakfasts, today. it has been many years since I did.
Nabisco ginger snaps, dunked into my coffee. there is an art to this, dunked too long and they fall in, not long enough and they stay hard. just right and they are eldento . then you take a sip of coffee and repeat several times.

How did the new car trip go, Corey ?

I went with my brother to buy a new truck when he got out of the navy. we went all over in Wausau and Merrill. One place in Merrill told him to come back when he could get the loan. He had cash in his pocket right there. but he was not dressed in a suit , so they just dismissed him as a window shopper. He was ready to buy a truck then and there, but it ****** him off so we went to Stark. they treated him like a customer and he bought the truck and drove it home..

Dr HAHA just decided to trade in his Jeep for a F150 PU.
and his SO is trading in her car for a different one also.
must be something in the air. Now my wife wants to get rid of my Blazer. WTH ??

Nice cooler weather out today.
I got the McCullough brush cutter running now.
Maybe I will have a go at some of the brush down by the pines.

I had a plum tree blow over with that last storm. just two days before that, I removed the stake I had holding it up straight.
perfect timing, eh?

You could always pick the rest of the beans and donate them to a food pantry.

Yes I could, but I won't. I don't pick beans, and I am not going to make Annie do it. we are not spring chickens anymore.
many years ago , when I could still pick beans, we picked about a bushel and gave them to someone. they never even cooked up a meal with any of them and then threw them away after they rotted.

Sort of kicks the wind out of our sails , eh?
I figure if they work for them, they will appreciate them more.
If the food pantry people want them, they can come pick all they care to..
sorry, but that is how I feel..

the car trip was pretty decent. We tested a new Ford Escape. I liked it but the wife's not 100% on it and taking a few days to think on it. That ecoboost engine ford has in some of their vehicles is pretty impressive. For having a 1.6 liter that thing hauls arse. I used to have a 1992 blazer that was my first vehicle. I drove it for 4 years and sold it because it smoked a little out the exhaust when I started it and I thought something was majorly wrong. I've regretted every day since. That thing could go thru anything. AND!! I still see the dang thing driving around from time to time.

I can understand that. And you are probably right that making them work for it makes them appreciate it. I offered some strawberry plants to our neighbor once. I went to the trouble of digging them up and boxing them nicely and setting them over our joint fence. Texted her to let her know they were there and 3 days later I picked them back up and replanted them rather than watch them die in the sun.

I had a Door County camping trip this last week. My tiny Lexus IS250 wasn't going to cut it so I was hell bent on getting an SUV or Crossover. After deciding the Ford Edge was a pile, I looked into Subaru, Acura RDX and Toyota venza. I really wanted the Acura but couldn't find the color I wanted. Plus, I really don't like leather seats. I have 2 kids and 3 dogs. The Lexus interior took a beating. I ended up buying a 2015 Jeep grand cherokee with 100 miles on it. I like the exterior, how easy it is to see out of, the towing ability, the suspension, it's comfortable and I got 25 mpg on my trip. BUT now I read all these reviews about transmission problems with it. So, I will only be keeping it a couple of years and selling before the warranty is up.

Can I show up I'd love a kayak? Lol

Sounds like a good company picnic and a fun party :)

It was pretty awesome actually. We had bean bag toss tornaments and stuff. A bounce house for the kids. A huge lunch of pulled pirk, hot dogs, grilled chicken and a ton of salads and deserts. Not to mention prizes and such. Couldn't have had better weather for it either.
