Where the heck is everyone? FFF.... so we had beef stroganoff.

Have these growing in the yard.... now, what to do with them.

I was at Annie's 55th HS reunion picnic.
I don't know what happened to all the people who used to post here..
I suspect FB and Twitter has kidnapped most of them..
If those are edible, I would make a huge omelette .. or just fry them up with onion and garlic.. maybe have a steak on the side ..

Yep, we had fish and fries and ho-made coleslaw from a fresh cabbage.
Jim is correct to cut and fry in butter and onions bl4.....those are best when young and tender …… give one a try. Not my favorite though.

WOW...another beautiful day here in the Badger State.
Nice that we received all the needed rain a little late, but heck the water table below is back to where it should be for us with wells.

Good morning! I did not watch the game last night.

I have been lost in the jungle of weeds that have taken over my garden. I made my way out just in time for this beautiful weekend.

Five turkeys were processed Saturday morning. Most ended up being ground up for turkey sausage.

The meat chickens are growing fast. They were let out of their chicken tractors most of yesterday afternoon. So comical to watch...

Today will be spent with my three year old grandson.

@CherMoz How old are your meat birds?
I have had mine for a week and they have doubled in size. They all have wing feathers and some are starting to get tails. This batch is sure a greedy, hungry bunch. I need to pick up another bag of feed for them, and I am going to need to increase their brooder size somehow. 15 meat birds is just too much for the brooder as I have now.
I will need to make a tractor for them, hoping to have it done by the weekend after next. DH has strong opinions about what I need for a tractor - but none are what I want, so I am going to make it on my own. Hopefully, they will feather quickly and can go into a tractor soon.
Tomato plants are loaded with tomatoes and still blooming. I have to figure out how to tie up some of those branches, the tomatoes are so heavy they are laying on the ground. Hoping that all the green ones will ripen before the frost comes, but that is a lot of tomatoes. I had to have DH carry in the basket of tomatoes that I picked yesterday, I could barely lift it onto the ATV so there was no way I would be able to carry it all the way into the house. So tonight I can tomatoes.

@wyoDreamer Our meaties are about 5 weeks old. We ordered 50 chicks and brooded them in a kiddie pool encircled with cardboard for additional height with a mama heating pad. It was still pretty warm out when we split them up and put them in two tractors (with nest boxes inside) without additional heating. They did have wing feathers with tail feathers coming in at that time. They were about a week and a half old. There were no corner pileup deaths from being cold. I have since divided them into three tractors and am ready to get a fourth tractor set up for them. There will be 13 in each at that point, since I had no losses and I received 52 chicks. I move the tractors twice a day at this point unless they get to free range...

If I had to do it all over again, for meaties I would have a 2 ft high chicken wire fence set up and then I would plant some sort of box wood shrub along and very close to the fence.
once the boxwood would grow for about 2 to 3 years, you would have an attractive fence that would deter most chickens from flying over it.
I know where there is a dairy farm where the people have such a set up around the cow yard by the barn. really neat looking..
I set up the apple peeler/corer/sllicer and did about 9 cups of slices.. Annie has a crust about ready and soon the house is going to smell just wonderful..

Yep, that was a miracle win for sure...hope Rodgers is back to health for the Queens game next week. I always plant jetsetter maters....ours are all done already....nice big maters that mature early and have wonderful flavor...prolly 3 bushels this year from 12 plants...better years yield even more.
