I hope everyone is ok; you can always replace the things, you can’t replace the people.

Poor chooks spent all day in their coop, we had storms roll though that dumped over an inch of rain. Put their fencing up last night, and we will hook up the charger this morning. Right now they are busy checking out their new play yard, happy to be out roaming. Last thing we need to do is get the motion light put up.

doesn't it just sort of tick you off a little bit when you give them a nice ramp to walk down on and they jump off to the side ? :barnie
I hope the guy can rebuild.
our volenteer fire dept has never lost a foundation.
just a note: I made three roosts all at the same level. hinged it to the wall so I could swing it up when I cleaned the floor..

I finally got the table saw motor fixed and back on the saw.
today I finally am getting to work on the AC frame. I have the bottom boards ready for gluing. I am just taking a break. there is no sun today, but it is still hot and humid.

Another nice Summer day. Picked Strawberries this morning...they are big and beautiful right now. Then made jelly and jam, as well as freezing some and leaving a quart out for fresh eating.
Hope I can tame the weeds in the garden in the near future....some stuff looks good and other stuff not very.

I pulled some weeds in the garden area so I could plant my 2 rose bushes that I bought. I wanted to buy 8-10 tomato starts to finish off the row of tomatoes. Pulling weeds, I found 14 volunteer tomato plants. :th
Since I don't know what type of tomato they are, the question is, do I leave them were they are? move them to the empty spots in the tomato row? make a new row for transplanted volunteer tomatoes? or just pull them out and be done with it. They could be grape, cherry, roma, better boy slicer, early girl slicer or a german heritage type beefsteak that I can't remember the name of but were some of the biggest, tastiest tomatoes I ever grew.
I am leaning toward starting a new row of volunteer tomatoes. If I like them, then I can start saving seeds and making a variety of tomato that suits my needs and grows well in my garden.

If you can transplant them without transplant shock, do it.
personally I would leave them right where they are. maybe thin them out if some are too close together. the thinned ones could go into the tomato row.
this is wisconsin, if they get set back, they might not recover enough to give you any tomatoes before fall..
IMHO..

Fish fry Friday on another warm Summer day. The outside cooker will be rockin in a while.... deep fried cod, ocean perch and swai with fresh cut fries and onion rings is the menu.
Being this late wyo, I'd prolly leave them where they are. You always have some shock when moving, unless they are really small. You will be able to tell if you have any cross pollination by the fruit you are familiar with.... I would not save those seeds.

stay cool bigz

My nemesis..... did some gardening on the 4th..... unwittingly messed in some poison ivy.... this is day 2. For me, this is not too bad. Debating if I should go to urgent care and get steroids or just tough it out.... traveling to Austin TX on Saturday for a wedding though; would like to not look like I have some crazy skin disease.....

we went to Jenny's for FFF at noon.
for supper we grilled hamburgers, baked asparagus and yukon gold potatoes.
eta: I posted at the same time as you BL4.
I am partially immune to poison ivey. probably because we got into it so much when we were kids.
Now, poison oak is another story. My first summer after high school I worked on a golf course in Illinois. I kept getting this rash on my ankles. couldn't figure out why. then I discovered it was coming from my pants around the cuffs. no matter how many times i washed them. quit wearing those pants and I was cured..
some day I have to tell you about our game of cowboys vs indians. we played a rough version of that. poison ivey was involved..
