Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

sister's vacation sounds wild.
a bunch of my nieces used to do that every year. they went to a bluegrass festival somewhere around Cadott ..
between my sisters and I there are 9 nieces all within about 3 or 4 years apart. quite the herd..
today we did a wrong thing. we did a plumbing project on a weekend. today is the only day I could recruit GS and BIL at the same time. they did the work, I lent the expertise. only two extra trips to Menard's for extra parts. BIL replaced 3 cracked and loose tiles on the floor. then he and GS changed out the vanity and sink and faucet.
The new vanity is a few inches taller than the old one, and I really like the goose neck faucet..
got the drain pipes all reamed out while we were at it. should be good to go for another 51 years or so..

You gotta hear this:
Last night just before midnight I was on the puter. I noticed a gray spot on the wall just to the right of the screen. I couldn't figure out what would project a gray spot onto the wall.
I continued putering when It looked like the spot moved. I stared at it for a moment then went back to looking at the screen. then it looked like the spot moved again. I stared at it and then it did move. I stood up and walked over to it and it moved again, and this time it crawled up the wall. I called GS Kalib to come down and see it.
It was a tree frog complete with suction cups on the tips of it's toes.
It crawled almost up to the ceiling and then half way back down. then it suddenly jumped onto the TV and worked it's way down behind the trunk to the floor.
I assume it is still in this room.

5 WEEK OLD COCKEREL(S) LOOKING FOR HOME! Near Waukesha/Milwaukee area

Free, willing to deliver for free at a reasonable distance. We may have more than one cockerel and are willing to offer pullet chicks for some peer company. Our chicks were naturally raised by their mom in a specially made nursery. Their father was a good rooster (pictured in the Imgur link at 3 months). Their father is a black copper marans, and their mother is an ameraucana. They are fully feathered and no longer need a heat lamp. We're hoping they can find a forever home, but if obtained for butchering we only ask they are treated humanely until the date of butchery. We can't keep the males because we need to avoid any incestuous breeding once they mature.

Been really busy here like always. We canned 12 pints of salsa and the tomatoes are far from giving up their bounty.... my little chicks are growing fast now and know what to do all day long. I was really lucky and out of 15 chicks hatched, I have only one cockerel ...he will be allowed to stay and figure life out here. I'm sure he will be a proud boy...LOL
Have fun bl4 in GB...

dishes are done, coffee and donut are devoured.
today I go with Annie while she has a crown put on a tooth, then to therapy for her legs.
yesterday she made an appointment to talk to a hip surgeon. she needs both hips replaced.
I am of no help to her at the appointments, but she always takes me out for lunch afterwards. LOL
BBL4, I heard that Americana roosters taste just like chicken.
Yesterday I reversed the door swing on the new vanity. now the project is officially finished..

GO PACK GO! Glad this is the last preseason game. In my opinion if the Pack can win it's first two divisional games they will be in control...how's that for wishful thinking?

More maters than we know what to do with....prolly more canning of them tomorrow. It's a good problem though.

well, the pack won. right off hand I can think of one quarterback that they can let go.
today I am going to finally get to work on the window well. Only I can cram a one hour job into two weeks..

ETA:
I ran about 1/4 bag short to finish the concrete window well.
I prepared what I got poured so I can add a 2" thick cap later on.
It should look OK.
Unless I can find an able bodied helper, I am not pouring any more concrete after this project is done.
and even then I might not do any more..
I will keep the mixer for mixing potting soil .

Just about ready to fire up the grill for some sweet corn, brats and zucchini.... we take a small zucchini about the size of a large cucumber and slice it half....score the inside face crossways and fill the cuts with Italian dressing and cook till there is still some firmness left.

have fun... bigz
