Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

We are still lucky enough Jim to have a couple places here that will saw your logs into lumber. Sometimes it is a shame to cut certain logs into firewood. I know I've done it many times. I also have taken many logs to the folks that do a wonderful job turning logs into nice lumber. It's a smart investment to save wood that has some sentimental value as well. I have an heirloom gun cabinet made from red oak off the property here. I'm sure it will be handed down for generations.

Wonder if big Mike can pull off a win today. My thoughts are the 9er's will pull off the win today. We will see....

Nope Jim, the Amish buy all their lumber here from building centers.
I'm friends with a guy that has a permanent sawmill set up on his property a few miles from here. He does make nice boards of any size you want.
I wonder if big Mike is in the hot seat again with Jerry?
The last play of the game was a dud.
Time for chores..... dang

yeah, the one guy I used to go to had a permanent circular
rig. he would saw logs as short as two feet .
He did it part time as a hobby. I haven't been to him for
many years, IDK if he is even still alive, or able to saw anymore.
my other friend had a band saw set up. he is in his nineties and
not in the best of health.. the guy with the portable band saw
died, and his son sort of took over. I don't think the kid knows
what he is doing..
there is a saw mill a couple of miles from me. I don't know if
they will saw small orders like mine..

Not much here new. Still have ice and still wearing cleats when going to barn or walking around property.
Had hen die SDS. Sudden death syndrome. Alive one day, next dead. Not sure why it died.
Egg production is up some, maybe layer starting late. Chickens been going outside now everyday. I count them every night, no predator attacks anyway, so that is good.
Colder later this week. The polar vortex is weakening with warm air. Possible the colder air could last well into or thru February, gosh hope not

I'm enjoying this weather too, despite the ice everywhere. Hope the cold coming doesn't hang around all Feb for sure. We don't need any payback from Mother Nature in my eyes.
Hope Ollie is up running today for you Jim. Tractor time is good therapy this time of year if it's not severely cold out.

Stay Safe .... bigz
