I opted for apple cider vinegar in the drinking water and all birds are perky and healthy looking. No idea what we had going on but hopefully it's over.

I always used vinegar in the water. the chickens seemed
to like it and it kept algae from growing.
I sure am not getting much outside work done.
heat and haze are too much for me.
the smoke has been so bad that it blocked our tv
satellite signal a few times.
I still haven't figured out the electrical problem with
the lawn mower. I made up a bunch of jumper wires with
aligator clamps. will give that a go.
I wonder if my tomatoes will grow without any direct sunlight ?
they sure have enough heat..
our deer family is hanging around. yesterday we saw
a doe and two very tiny babies.

the rain we got did enough for 2 days. Now we need more.

If you need rain, watch how you pray for it.
Rain in the worst way could come as a flood.
I am using my rain barrel for water. I have just the
one large container with three tomatoes in it. I have
a siphon hose rigged up. to shut it off, I just kink the hose.

At this point, we’ll take some mild flooding.

Mild flooding would be ok. Just enough to not ruin all the crop though

Moved the girls into the coop this evening. Went much better than expected. Just wandered outside, not a sound from them. .

We 1 1/4 inch rain was watering there for awhile about 8 hours a day. looks like rain coming Saturday hoping to plant Friday if I get my tractor tire back.

Need more rain

My black austrolorp wants more chicks I marked 6 eggs. She does a nice job what the heck.
