I made a chicken feeder out of a 5 gallon plastic bucket that wastes very little if any feed. I could feed any type of feed in it and it always emptied completely..
I posted plans on byc somewhere , but was told basically that I was a liar. so I don't post any plans anymore.. I generally just read posts, now..

I have seen the bucket feeders and i think it would cause less mess than some of the other feeders people make

Hard to believe the weather can be this gentle the first week of March. I'm loving it as well as the flock being out and about.
Hens are laying well after a winter rest.
Good to see everyone is doing well. Making firewood like a fool this past month.

I haven't but have heard of them. And now I realize that I'm less than 15 miles from them, which I never quite realized.

Anyone been syruping? We're already done for the year, because we don't need a ton. 3 gallons'll do us for at least a year.

I'm lucky enough that the neighbors do tap and cook and share a gallon every year. I just don't have the time ...too busy making firewood. I love the real stuff and realize it's worth the effort for sure!
