Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Good Morning All! bl4 yes that has bothered me since I did the pay thing. I knew someone would be on me about it. So I looked into it this AM. Seems I'm still stupid. No surprise to me. Can't find where to change it and I still haven't figured out how to post an avatar. Even though fordmommy told me how to do it. The avatar pic I chose was too big and need to downsize it. Obviously not very puter literate. L can probably do it when she has time. Thanks fordmommy for refreshing my memory I thought it was you. You know I'm with you on the name for the gathering. So unless there's an objection I think it only befitting to honor the founders of this thread. All in favor say aye! Opposed? Bigz "sound stupid" sounds stupid.

You forget who your dealing with here. Chicken people. Tried to push the brush up the chimney yesterday didn't get very far. Did a hot burn in the stove yesterday to try to dry out the creosote plus used a chem drier. I was going to run up to Ace and get a 5" brush then remembered I have an extra brush. I'm thinking either trim down the diameter or cut out some of the bristles. It's still in the engineering stage. Plus I have to find it. Looks like Easter has come early. Peaches was crowing at the moon yesterday AM before the coop light came on hope he wasn't up all night.

THANKS BCC! I'll give it try later. Busy trimming down the chimney brush right now. Decided on full bristles, smaller dia. Then on to the fun part. Every time the furnace kicks in it makes me cringe. Not used to that.

Dr. Haha, you post your sig change in the GFM thread. The mods will approve it and change it for you! Easy as pie!

Have fun with the chimney!

Well maybe I should become a GFM just so I can use that option...I cant figure it out either...I guess I will have to ask my teenager. SHe will roll her eyes but she will do it. Gotta get her back on making egg signs again too, the girls are laying up a storm. On another note, just got my tin water heater made today. Only cost me .50 for the tin at st vinnies! I had the rest. DH says it is going to be a fire hazard and was upset that I was using it in the coop. Cant be any more dangerous than the 5 heat lamps I have out there! In fact, I feel that it is safer because of the metal around it.

I personally like "Bigzio Annual Chickenstock" Myself for our name. Good idea to keep the date off. I am planning on bringing my horse and dogs and camping for the weekend. THis is going to be SO FUN!!! Terri O near Madison

Terri, why do you have heat lamps, they are very dangerous, last winter one of the kids who buy's birds from me,had a fire burned down both of the coop's (all birds died) and was going toward the house, but a passing cop saw it, so saved the house. you really don't need heat lamps in your coop. the only building that I have that has heat is my chick shed and I'm using a small heater, i keep it at 40, and I've got a bullet heater in a different building with a thermo cube so it only go's on if it gets below 35 in there. to keep the water cups from freezing
everyone else is unheated.

Oh no I dont have them in the coop...they are in the barn for the baby goats and lambs. Probably not much safer...but at least they are 2' off the ground braced in a corner. I put horse ropes clipped to the clamps and tied to the rafter so I guess it is as safe as can be. THanks for your concern! Too bad about the other kid...man that would really be bad to have a fire! Good Evening....
Dr h good to hear you got the fire going good. Ya that black stuff seems to get everywhere, even when your careful. I had a brown pair of leather gloves when I started, and a black pair when I finished the job.
I always need puter help too! Not like we grew up with them in school, eh!

Terry O way to go with the discount water heater. Man .50 would be the cheapest I ever heard of. Plus it's green.
