Good late evening everyone! Got my yellow summer squash planted...that is the last thing for that garden! was doing fair entries--due tomorrow...cant find my Wheaton Ameraucana pullet today!!! I am SO TICKED! She was my favorite in that group! I hope she shows up tomorrow...
I am really starting to get worried about DKvart! I am so surprised that we havent heard from her yet...wonder how we can find out where she is...anybody?
My friend has her coop listed on Craig's List as "the best coop" I dont have a link but it is on Madison"s List I believe. It is nice and solid if anyone is looking for an addition.

I have had them in the incubator for 8 days now. All that is developing is a large red ring. some of them are just yolks with nothing. shouldn't I see something by now?. I love the t shirts. How much is it for one? I am so happy I found this site. Every time I say the word chicken to my friends I get the "not again" sigh.

It feels good to talk to other people that understand how great these creatures really are.

hi again, yeah Brent, sat night might be easier for me too.. I could come noonish on Sat and stay til Sunday,,..

TO , that sucks when a bird goes missing.. I could not find one duck this morning. she showed up late this afternoon.. I think she is hiding a nest..

I had only 2 calls from my ad in the Buyers Guide.. People just are not wanting poultry..

I called a friend for some straw.. He sold all he had, but said I could go to his other farm and take all that was there.. mostly broken bales.. I want to mulch very heavily with it.. this wind is just drying out the bare ground so fast..

mama duck lost one of her babies.. down to 4.. the turkey lost one also, but we think the adolesent goose killed it.. It went after the ducks again this morning and I swatted it with a broom.. It was so comical to see the surprised look on his face and how he ran all the way across the yard to get protection from the old geese.. LOL

had 6 guineas hatch today.

I think the goose in the chicken coop is overdue.. we are thinking of putting the three 2 weeks old goslings under her.. I am sure she will take them, but bator hatched geese do not have any bonding instincts.. we will see...

the adolesent gosling has angel wing.. it's not as pretty as it sounds.. it does not hurt anything, but it makes it look lopsided..

Hey Polla! There are some Cheeseheads in your neck of the woods; me and Julie (neighbor) in Wayside, and Shantibirdy is in Morrison.

We'd love to meet you and have you at the Bash. We are planning to carpool/caravan with SusieJ (Denmark), the more the merrier! No one else understands our illness.

I think Raimnel needs $10 per shirt. She'll have some extras at the Bash, all XL's I believe.

that the rain holds off tomorrow until I get the last of the squashes, beans, and gourds planted. Almost done. This is the latest I've ever gotten a garden in. Hope it's not all for naught - c'mon hot-humid-perfectly-rainy summer.

Oh, BL4, I wonder if that plant you were asking about is comfrey? Pretty sure I brought some to last years' Bash. Very large leaves with spikes of purple bell-like flowers? Grows like kudzu! Very good for promoting topical healing.

polla37, we all have had that look cast upon us .. I still get it from some people.. Most people have learned to not ask me questions about chickens.. I just go on and on,,, more than they want to know.. LOL

I saw a few chickens out a few days ago in wayside and on the turn near my house . I just pointed at the chickens and my boyfriend gave me "the look". I am pretty sure I saw a barred rock. Who's may that be. and around the corner from my house I saw this beautiful big light brown one in the driveway. Down the road I saw someone with turkeys too. I am not alone.

So should I throw these eggs out before they explode or how does this stuff work . sorry Ima Noob

amyable... if you want to get rid of more comfrey I'll take all you want to get rid of!!! It's a component in a salve I make and I need to make some this year. I would like to plant a bunch too!

Raimnel... Do you still need us to bring a meat dish too?

We should be coming up Fri. We need a camp site w/power and not too far from the bathrooms!

How much are the camp sites? I don't think it was mentioned.

Didn't have all the garden fence up when I went to plant so I had lots of help in the garden!

They left the tomatoes alone but was I glad when DH showed up to finish the fence! They seemed to like the young tender cabbage family plants!

And of course my 3 favorite girls were the ones doing the most tasting!

Tiny looked so sad when I yelled at her and swatted at her, I never did that to her before. That look made ME feel bad!

Just a few more plants left to plant and then the rows of seeds. I hope I get something out of them.


Polla..... come to the bash.... I'm sure you can talk chickens to our hearts content!

That is where i saw them. All free rangin in the driveway. I go through there all of the time to go to green bay. Yea I was wondering how much it costs for the camping too. I probably would only be able to stay for a night cause the bf has to work sunday in the morning. I think I am going to go. It would be my mom, sister, bf and me. Just have to see how the money situation is
