Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Hi all! Crazy busy day today for sure! I had a client at 8 that I showered and took to therapy, then home for chores, then to Oconomowoc to interview another client, then Cambridge to make lunch and do another shower...back home to pick up the bloated beagle to take her to the vet for an appointment! Thank God I had put some venison in the Crockpot for chili...yup it wasnt done yesterday so I remade it for today...OMG--SO GOOD! I am so full I am afraid to get up and walk!Glad that there are a smidgeon of leftovers! Lunch for sure!
Carol just txtd...she cant ride tomorrow because of circumstances--I am sad...I havent see her for soooo long! Oh well, another time!

I had so much to read tonight and really cant remember what I was going to comment on! Welcome to all the new folks! Good luck on the new eggs/chicks coming in January! Great deals! Just so you all know, If anyone wants really wild, can reproduce on their own, no feed needed chickens...I have 4 day olds NOW!

OK I cnat remember anything else...even though there was MUCH to say. Have a great night everyone...I must go and clean up from dinner and do chores now! Nighties! TerriOgladthe furnaceisntonburningupoil

I don't think I'm too interested in any more crosses than I already have. If you had some purebred English orp chicks, I'd trade you for some lavenders, if that is ok.

Bigfam, you have more bators than me, so you're getting Dom eggs. Unless someone were to go broody.

I sure wish I had a pure choc orp roo to breed Hershey to. Her butt definitely screams wide load. It's so big that when she's hauling *****, she has to make two trips.

I had to chuckle at the "short circuit" comment. Sounds like you'll fit in around here just fine, Steve.

We had a couple of good downpours down here too. I'm glad they waited til after dark. Beautiful temps for Dec. I'll take it til April!

Not good news on the Critter front. Ramses has been steadily declining and might possibly be making his last trip to the vet tomorrow.

He has been very difficult about taking his pills lately, so I have been having to force them down him, making him afraid to get near us. The backup shots that we have for when he gets bad aren't helping him like they used to. We think they are adversely affecting his kidneys, which are also failing as is his heart. At least he lived a lot longer than they thought he would and had a good quality of life in the time he has had. He has been happy and playful up until a few days ago, so we are thankful for that. We had to bring Jasmine bunny back inside for the winter again. Her arthritis in her back legs just gets too bad with the cold weather. But so far she seems happy & healthy otherwise.

Good luck to you and much strength in advance! TerriO

Oh CC I am so sorry!

That just sucks, and at Christmastime too.

I agree with you BigZ.... sat around until noon before I did anything productive. Then I went nuts and started cleaning...... and then the kids came home so I was bossing them around getting things picked up. Washed all the mittens and gloves and sorted them out so I could toss the misfits.

Roasted two chickens tonight and made mashed potatoes and gravy. I love having roasted chickens...... of course there is NOTHING left of either bird!

Watching Jeff Dunham right now. I would love to get DH tickets to see him. It would be a great gift!

Hi All,

FOOTBALL!

Nite All.

PS. Well David, the neighbor says to keep that last one that's left that you had wanted while they think, but I'm gonna toss it at'em and say "think fast" if someone asks for it. DD will be ok with it. Sorry for your woes CC, GR and TO, well TO a lil; you just rode w/her yesterday good grief.

We are still looking at houses. There is one in Burlington, WI that I like, so maybe we'll get to see it along with the others this Saturday. This process is both exciting and depressing!!!

It is really windy here tonight. How about further north?

good PM, sitting here sipping some green tea.. sure it is green, but still some kind of herb.. am going to quit using Celestial tea.. It all tastes the same to me..

Eye surgery went well.. 95 blasts with the lazer.. Now my eye feels like it has sand in it..

Dave, here is cure for your boring bantams,, turn them loose and try to catch them again..

that hen standing next to the 5 gal bucket looks a lot like a rooster.. unless I mis-read something..

glad all went well Jim, was waiting for a post if ya didn't post by 6am I was gonna call... just to check in on ya.....How long will it take to be not so sore?
Is Annie home to look after you? or isn't it so bad.......that ya need a baby sitter ........hehe Kim

Quote: Annie went to work.. nothing anybody can do for it.. It isn't so bad when I keep it closed..
I will be having the other eye done in a few weeks.. this is supposed to slow down the glaucoma.. lower the pressure in the eye.. the soreness should be gone in a day or two..

Annie made some veggie soup today.. I had 2 bowls of it.. didn't partake of the potatoes in it, but I scarfed down the cabbage and coliflower. ..

had some grapes for dessert.. gave gramma a grape.. she took a little nibble of it and threw the rest of it across the room..

up here in Wausau it was a little breezy, after it rained real hard for a few minutes.. but the air was still warm when I locked up the birds after dark..
