Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

I think I must have been tired! I was asleep before 10 and awake by 9?????

Sick kitty is moping around today. I need to get to Fleet and pick up some fluid bags for him. He is a bit dehydrated, and right now he is REALLY jaundiced. It does not help that he has an irritated stomach (he tossed his cookies yesterday). Right now he is vegging out on the heating pad. I offered his some liversausage (warmed a bit in the micro) but he turned his nose up at it. So now I am just waiting for the appetite stimulant to kick in.... pot in pill form for cats!

I took my daughters shopping yesterday after work. Perhaps I should not attempt a massive shopping trip after getting up at 4:30 in the morning! TGF Starbucks! We were at the Mall, Hobby Lobby, Kohls...... I did manage to pick up kickboxing gloves for myself and the youngest DD. We are taking classes starting in March. I can't wait!

Have to do pizza delivery today. The kids had a fundraiser for the Band, they sold handmade pizzas and now it is delivery time to the relatives who live a bit of a distance. No biggie, maybe it will be warmer after lunch......

At least the sun is shining!

alot of moping here today bl4's cat and mazojoe moping and doing laundry.

I never thought of furs being graded before but I guess location and genetics make a difference in everything.

I have always enjoyed working alone on projects. Saves alot of time explaining to others what you are doing and how to do it.

I really like engineering the braces, saw horses, helping hands and holder uppers required to work alone.

I should not complain about cold down here minus 3 is not the terrible cold some are enduring.

URGENT!!!!!!
OK, LOOKING FOR HELP FROM YOU WHO KNOW THIS SITE BETTER THAN I DO. THIS NEEDS TO BE POSTED WHERE MORE CHICKIE FOLKS CAN SEE THIS.

This beautiful painted silkie was stolen right out of Judy Lee's trailer @ the Newman TN show this weekend. Judy Lee is the creator of the American Painted Silky. It took her 10 yrs to breed this little girl named Penelope and besides the financial/breeding loss, she loves this little girl. Some skum bag stole her!!!!!
Please help me pass this along. If you know of this bird or see her please contact "TheEggBasket" either by their FB page or website. (she is a close friend of Judy) You can also post on FreshEggsDaily FB page or website and she'll forward it on. We need to let the scumbags out there know they can't get away with stealing our girls!!!

Yeah JJ--I am moping here also...I invited Peggy to dinner cause she is moving and doesnt eat...trying to decide what to make. The fam is in Chicago still for that hockey thing...I am thinking about making banana cake. I have a recipe from another site but need to change it to GF. Good thing I will have a guinea pig to help me eat it! LOL! But I dont know what else I should make...thinking one of those chickens we butchered...but they are frozen solid...maybe I should get off the computer? NAH...

I will post that plea on FB Vicki. Just terrible that someone would do that! All that work! And then if you stole the bird you couldnt say what it was anyhow! So Stupid!

Well, just popped in to see what was up...Silkie Lover; the Jefferson swap is the last Sunday of February if you are close!

So Mazo...do you feed the muskrats special food all year before trapping season? Might be worth it if you can get $30 a pelt!

Good job in any case!

If she's not going eat anyway, you may as well make something you like. Try the brownies, she ate at least 3 of those. Brownies and beer yummmmm.

anything cool at the jefferson swap?

Well, I will be there...and I am obviously the most coolest person that you know! (did I type that?

I pput the forks on Ollie and hauled four frames up from bown the hill.. I am putting a 1 1/2" x 2 1/4" piece on each end inside the frame for a good place to attach the abutting frame..

this is the piece I added.. later on when I abut the side frame into this one, you will see how it functions.. I will take more pictures as I go..

I completed two frames.. I didn't want to cut any more fillers until I was sure it was going to work as I planned.. It did...

Now the sun is behind the wind break trees and it is cold working in the shade..

MazoJoe, the odds of getting a hide like that is like hitting the lottery, eh ?

I am thirsty,, I think I will try to find some ice cream and make a root beer float.. real root beer for this recipe..

The puppy had a chicken cornered in the yard .. I had to put the fear of god into him for that trick.. he has yet to get his first spanking, but he is working at it..

the guineas took back the dog house during the day today.. It is a multi purpose coop..

Hi again everyone!!!
just an FYI about the stolen silky. It was already posted on FB but I'm sure another posting won't hurt. Just thought the word could be spread a little further a field in some of the other threads on here (there really are other states on here right????

)

QUESTION~ I'm sure the first one (or maybe both) is for Jim.
Broilers, you want the cockerels, not the pullets, right??? I have no experience with them and my neighbor asked.
We are thinking of going in together on an order from Sunnyside (they are the suppliers for our local Country Store) which leads to my 2nd question.

Anyone know what the breeds are in the Sunnyside Browns? Just curious.

Ok, that's enough dumb newbie questions for now.

both groups of broilers we raised we did pullets- they seemed to put good weight on- ranged from 2.9 to 6.01 lbs after being processed.

the flyer I have from Sunnyside doesn't give much, says that the males are buff and females are reddish brown similar to the Rhode Island red
