Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Brrrrrr...TO....I had to just walk thru the garage t check on my chickens and that was cold enough for me! Amery just now finally started crowing. Think it took a litte while for his voice to warm up. Pigeoons where still breathing...so far so good. I want to get out there and get some photos of the new ones.....which BBP...caught my error...silver speckled hamburgs. I'm so in love with my little roo...
My chicks are getting to their teenage ugly weeks...4 weeks old today...their feathering is pretty rough. I did however get a nice color assortment and they re pretty tame.
Alright...hope everyone's day goes well...stay warm!

I see some improvement this morning!

He is seeking out food on his own.

He is eating in little spurts, but the main thing is he is eating. I gave him his shots this morning without issue. He is still loving the heating pad but he IS a cat..... I was a little bit worried about him last night, after we came home from the vet he just laid around looking catatonic... not sure what he had going on but around 4:30 in the morning he thought perching on me or DH was a good idea. Pet me dang it!

Who ordered this weather?????? I have errands to run! I need to go to Fleet and pick up some 19-20 gauge IV needles!

Today is the oldest DS's 16th birthday. He has decided to wait with Drivers Ed until this summer (no argument here). He would like to have grilled hamburgers and brats, but with this wind it might be difficult. I need to bake up a cake today too..... I should get going on that while my bluejeans are in the dryer....

Better drink my coffee....

Morning all.....
What some yucky nasty weather out there this am........ I had to shovel a 2 foot drift just to open my garage door to do chores, I have ice covered horses and chickens that will have to be in today like it or not, its blowing way to hard out there to even consider opening the garage door a foot for them to go in and out.......... and they aren't so crazy about windy or deep snow.......... Hope it quits blowing so I can clean up them drifts, otherwise by tomorrow morning They will be 5 feet high.

Adam is in Ill. this AM, he should have been to his stop near Detroit but had a coolant leak, so the shop dinked him around several hours, so no drive time to get him there. Hope he isn't late, its snowing over there in MI. too. not quite as cold as we are though. Good grief is spring ever gonna start, it creeps in 1 day then whams ya with snow ice, wind......... Yuck.....sick of winter need it too warm up.

DrHa.... that was not funny , my alone time sucks, but filling it with 7 more people might be a bit much ya think hehehe........!!!

Hope the kitty is doing good, to the doggy with the re-ocuring ear infection, CC ? anyway have ya tried olive leaf oil, its a good natural antibacterial, might help...... forgot to post that yesterday...... sorry.
Hope all our sick ones are better very soon........... it makes life so much harder when ya have so much extra to worry about.......

Jim I hope that wind isn't as crazy by you as it is here, Hope your new pen is still standing. I'm debating if I even want to attempt to take the boy to school, with the drifts out there and I still haven't heard a plow go by., and been up since 6am....... maybe he can stay home today, cuz I really don't feel like being stuck in those drifts, the 1` in my driveway is like 3/4 of the way across the road, and about 2 feet high. Hate this wind........ n how can an inch of snow make so big a drifts?

Well anyway take care all drive safe if ya go out, and stay outa them drifts.........Kim

good morning,, I just love these crisp cool wisconsin mornings, don't you ??

the puppy came in,, Dora is curled up in her secret place..

I didn't notice a strong wind.. but then, I didn't actually go outside.. I just opened the door to let the puppy in,,

One of my batteries took a charge.. how long it will run remains to be seen.. I don't think I will find out today.. It looks too cold to screw around outside.. pun intended..

I have battery #2 in the charger now.. the indicator lights are not lighting up , but the charger seems to be working anyhow..

I was on line for awhile checking prices of new cordless drills.. the one I have was $119.oo..
I would like to get another just like the one I have, then maybe that charger would be OK and then I would have two drills and 4 battery packs..

I could not find just the charger alone..

java must be done, going up for a cuppa..

Dr H~ a little prayer that the news is good for your dad (and a bit for peace for you)

Here I am, the bearer of good news again.

530,000 CHICKENS AT 7 FARMS IN MEXICO FOUND INFECTED WITH H5N1 "BIRD FLU" VIRUS YESTERDAY.

Lovely huh? Anyone see this on the national news this morning? Anyone??? Geesh.

Main outbreak was found at Mexico's largest chicken producer. You have to either go to the latin/american news outlet or go to the Chicken Whisperer's FB page to find the link to the story. One scary pic of over 100 people in hazmat suits near a virtual white tent city. Probably has something to do with the ordered 1,000,000 vaccine doses. "Oh, hold it, before you sneak across the border, please let us vaccinate your chickens first" yeah, right.

For those interested Dr. Peter Brown (aka the Chicken Dr.) will be on CW's show this morning @ 11 am talking about bird flu. signs, symptoms, etc. in your flock .

Now I am off to check on the girls one more time. the way the wind is howling I know there won't be any eggs that haven't already been laid today. My girls HATE the wind!!!

Everyone snuggle up, stay warm and I hope no one loses power!!!!

Yikes! That's scary stuff!

Good luck to your Dad, Dr. H. Hope everything turns out okay.

Hope the kitty gets better, too, bl4.

GR-that's a really nice thing you are doing for that family. Hope it's very temporary though. That's a lot to handle. The people would be enough to handle, but 2 St. Bernards?
