Kristip..you have a friend looking for a good cockerel? I must have missed that post.
He is a Pencil and beautiful..I no longer have any more Rocks other than one white rock hen. I am not going to replace her.
I am going to stick with Orpingtons, Wyandotties and my RIR's for now. DH has the Silkies

He is a nice size bird and makes nice sized baby's.

She can have mine for a future trade. Transportation is not a problem. I will take new pictures tomorrow..I have old pictures and he is still growing.

I mentioned before that I got a friend hooked ( ok her mom has some down in AZ) but I talked her into building a coop up here. She wants to start with about 10 birds and likes variety. I am hatching on Easter for her and have a few breeds, anyone somewhat local want to donate some good layer eggs to a newbie for some variety(or I can shell out a few bucks)?
I can provide:
bantam silkies and duccle
Jaerhan and marans muts from Carol
JJ said he may have some olive eggers for me...
I may be buying a few polish eggs from a local source.

I can set you up some eggs. I have dual purpose egg layers. We get up your way often (Casino and kids).

My pleasure..just let me know how much room you have. I have two nice lines on dual purpose. One line is heavier and better with confinement, the other line is free range all day line, less broody, and less weight.


You will get these chicks..reds..mostly..very hearty
I can send pictures of a few adults and juvies tomorrow..all sweet birds. Even this mom with her baby's will attack me, and than hide her chicks and come to me for pets and cuddles.

The meeting went well today--She is going to call me tomorrow if I get to be Grandma to her kids...I think she is all of 25! Younger that my own kids!

DD26 just asked me to go to VB with her...I have to "be ready" in 4 mins! Yeah, that is tough--READY! LOL. I am just a little bored here...weird how that works.

Kim, what a beautiful coffee table! Personally, I would rip out the wicker and put in ceramic tiles, or mosaics. That way you have something nice to look at through the glass. If you need to replace the glass I bet there are a few places in the area who can supply you with what you need.

When DH dropped Runt off last night, he was in pretty rough shape. They hooked him up to an IV right away and did not even attempt to get the feeding tube into him until later this morning. The GOOD news is he is a bit more active today and they have given him some food. He is still using the litterbox too. They told us that we could possibly bring him home tomorrow, but I would rather they keep him until they are completely sure what direction he is going in. I have to give him a chance to recover if he can. Right now it is all a waiting game.

Looking forward to the drive in tomorrow!!!! I can't WAIT to get out onto the highways and fight my way into work!

Ok guys- I love these chicks, but can someone tell me how to get them to SHUT the H*** UP?!?! They are so loud! And I mean- I can hear them upstairs?! They are pecking at the side of the tub, and making all sorts of peeps, sounds I have not heard them make before. They have never done this before. I put a sheet over the top thinking that would work which it did, but only for like 10sec. It's driving me crazy!!
