Good evening! The vet was here today...my wallet is lighter by far but they are all taken care of for the year! This vet is such a sweetheart, he gave me the rabies shots for the dogs for the price of the upcoming rabies clinic that is being advertised. ANd the one for the 17 year old dog was free! We get him through 4H and he does all of the farms that sign up with him on one weekend. We all split the farm call for the day so it is very reasonable.

That Basque rooster looks like my Red Stripe! I looked them up and they look to be smaller and "taller standing"--like way more upright than him though. I think he is a result of my barred rock hens and my big red rooster. Never can tell with the ones that come from surprise nests though!

I'm alive.........There was a mix up. I planned to go to Deli's tomorrow at 1, not today. I do feel loved however!!!!!

It was Butch that I helped with that moose, when I left we had most of it done, he's leaving on vacation Tuesday. The plan was to let the meat rest a few days refrigerated then I'll go over and help with packaging, we'll see what we end up with. Maybe moose jerky for the bash? Not my moose we'll see how it goes.

JJ that was the 1st thing I asked when he told me he had to pay for it,,,lmao. Like the DNR must have a price list for "unusual" roadkill

I plan to start the Sportsman on Monday, these 1st eggs will be an attempt at olive eggers, the 5 AMs I have in the big coop that have been exposed to a BCM rooster, also the Blue Wheaten cockrel is in there so no matter what hatches it should be good. A few of these eggs have been cold (not frozen) but I have to give them a shot.

I start collecting for Kris tomorrow..I am hoping she gets all half Orps now that Black foot is gone. Should be interesting to see what hatches. I will collect for myself on Tuesday. I figure I should have a nice full bator of meaties to sell at mile fair.


DH comes home tomorrow..been a long week..going to be a really short weekend.

Unkadan- that was probably the same moose that was near our place a couple years ago. The age looked about right.

QUESTION----- for all you that raise your own chicks. Do you vaccinate your chicks for cocci??? My chicks will come vaccinated for Merks but nothing else. Saw at FF yesterday they had cocci vaccine in powder form. Looked like a lot of doses but I could split with my neighbor if you guys think it is necessary.

I feed my chicks Fermented Feed and get them on the ground, or get the ground to them..never cocci..not even meaties..ever..

Hubbys uncle does. He wants to give us a box this year. I dont know anything about it. We have a half dead tree with a nest. Musthave been crowded last summer... they made this huge weird clump in the branches. He knew what it was, and asked if wed keep a box... he seems to think they would rehome to it.
