Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

I have a newbie question....can you put day old chicks in with 2-3 week olds?? Thanks in advance!

I wouldn't the older ones will pick the snot outa the babies, or trample them in a week or 2 when they start going brooder crazy.......... trying to learn to fly, plus they could potentially smother the babies if they make a huddle.........

Welcome to our newbies, you will find this a great forum with lots of friendly knowledgeable people who are always willing to help, or answer any questions that may arise. Jim is our resident hatch master, and chicken guroo......... if no one can answer it he surely can......... plus hes a sweet ole bear.......LoL
we have lots of enablers here also so don't say ya need chicks or chickens hehehehe you will be bombarded with offers.......LOL So have fun and join right in, we don't mind at all........

Nothing much new to report here, I settled the insurance crap this morning, were keeping the jeep cuz I can not find another with a manual transmission, in Wi, IA, MN, UM, and LM or IL......... I looked for 3 days, I must have looked at 5000 jeeps.......... anyway they are giving Adam and I each a grand for our sore necks, 1500 each in medical for chiropractic care for 6 weeks, and giving me 1553 for my trashed jeep.............. could have done better but don't want the hassle of attorneys and court and fighting I hate fighting........... so anyway now I have to find a body man cuz .......Adam is a engine man and don''t do painting or unwrinkling of floor pans and bumpers.......... So anyone here know a good cheap body guy, I sure could use a break on this one......... already took a loss on a 2 month old vehicle...... that I paid 1995 for.............. arggggggggg so anyway Have a great day all Hugz to everyone ............Kim

Some body posted the other day they have chickies that lay bright blue eggs. Cant remember who tho... maybe big fam. Are those eggs truly blue? Or kind of green? What breed is it? And do you sell chicks? What is temperament of them?

Hi there- it wasn't me who posted, but our Ameraucanas laid beautiful robin egg blue eggs. They have stopped laying though, so I haven't had one in a long time

Cream legbars also lay blue eggs, and true aracaunas (sp) lay blue eggs. The Ameraucana can lay blueish, blue green, or even pink. Olive eggers oe Easter eggers lay green of varying shades.

A true Ameracauna only lays blue eggs. Any pinkies, or greenies are from Mixes. An Easter Egger can also lay a blue, but it is not as common as the other colors.

i will be hatching Lavender Ameracaunas for Easter hatch a long. There will be chicks or sale... ;)

Thanks guys! My sis inlaws gave her to her. I thought she was soooo cute! Lol. My sis gave her to me :) shes the only one we have that isnt very friendly. Only had her a few weeks. Im sure shell come around.

Judge, I hope the girls lay soon!!!!

Big fam, ill prolly be in touch!

Everyone getting ton of eggs to fill incubators? It looks like the Easter hatch is going to be huge. Hundreds of eggs set by individuals. I think one person is setting over 400.

I will have just enough to fill my incubator. My duck is setting today and being a Muscovy she will be hatching April 15th give or take. Muscovys are so weird on how they set eggs. The first few days they do not set tight..they just sort of warm them on and off all day and set nights.

Where is our 40 degree weather?

thank you Delisha! no, I didn't see the "sunroom".  I am definitely checking that out closer!!!
