For all the people who are interested in Fermented Feed and the benefits to new chicks..this is a good read. Tons of great information.

Thanks JJ..and you are right..sometimes I like to be funny..and people do not think I am. I should just read and shut up.
you're right. I am not willing or able to be the cheesehead attention police. I am also no great judge of humor. The first proof is I think I am funny.

I looked at what I posted after and thought "that's not me"

Apologies

Deli...this is the barred rock or english orp?
Black. Two tiny feathers of white on head, and edge of wings and bottom. Fluffier than barred rock.
sorry to nose in BUT, that could be a cukoo from one of my eggs. dark with light spot on head. Some of mine had just a couple light feathers on their heads

nice pics. more please.

hi again,, I am still waiting for my 10:3o AM phone call.. now I am getting nervous.. I tried calling him,, got his answering machine..

I have 4 out and 16 to go.. I just set up a chick TV..

for spradle leg, the sooner you get at it the better.. If you do it within the first day, it doesn't matter if the chick cannot move around,, they do not need to eat during that period of time..

and the more they struggle, the better, that strengthens the muscles that hold the leg straight..

I made a batch of dinner rolls while I am waiting for my phone call..
they look and smell yummy..

BBP, my calls have not laid one single egg yet as far as I know. I think we will head out there this afternoon and let the ducks out to play and stretch their wings out. Maybe they will start laying since it is warming up.... or they have hit duck menopause.....

Did the big Easter get-together here yesterday. Had my mom and my sister and her family over. Kids dyed eggs, and grownups ate too much and drank too much.... everyone was trying to nap by 7!

CC, I hope your day today improves. Thank you for the PM.

TO, too bad you and Judge and Hurley did not get connected this morning! You could have been a chick train participant!

Appropriate for the day....

Everyone enjoy the day and have a wonderful Easter!

Got home this am around 3, emergency surgery, then packed up 48 easter eggs and made the boys' baskets. Got up bleary eyed this am and hid the eggs in the front yard.

The Easter Egg Hunt...big hit.

Just got done hiding eggs for the 16th time now. :p They don't care about the Easter baskets at all, it's all about the egg hunt. They come up and dump their eggs back in the "reset bucket" chattering "Ok, momma, momma be right back, hide the eggs momma, Thomas go find da eggs?"

Darn cute. I'd better get on it for the 17th time.....

Happy Easter to All!!!

He is Risen!

Funny Hurley, reset the egg hunt! Mine did the Lions' Club hunt down at the park yesterday, then I hid a few eggs around the house this morning. That is plenty of candy as far as I'm concerned.

My sis is coming for a duck dinner tonight. Having green beans, asparagus, home-canned peaches, spuds of some sort I haven't decided on yet, and she is bringing a white choc cheesecake. Ooh, can't wait!

AWWWW!!! Dont give it a thought. the next prefect person that posts on here will be the first one. thats the problem with writing, sometimes its hard to tell the intent. that was good stuff, keep up the sense of humor, we can all use it. HOPPY EASTER TO ALL!!!!

ok more questions...then I have two barred rock deli, the one in in pic is bigger than its friend, but friend has white spot...is white spot more roo indication in BR?

JJ- here are pics of your cukoo maran(bigger) and blue egg layer on right sitting( still has a little gunk on its head as it was the one that got sticky when it zipped out.) Second pic are the two olive eggers- they are more red/gold than yellow compared to white rocks, one has stripes, other does not. what will they look like when grown? if I feather sexed them correctly (probably not accurate, but I tried) they are both girls. Love their strawberry blond color!
